And instead, Ann Mae Bullock of Nutbush, Tennessee, a Swiss citizen born November 26, 1939, is finally leaving the world after a biopic, two musicals, a couple of shocking autobiographies and many unforgettable songs have long made her a legend. Turner passed away on May 24 at the age of 83 at her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. His rep previously revealed that the star was suffering from a long illness, but didn’t give any further details. According to Page Six, the causes of death would not have been announced until the next day.

The Proud Mary singer only admitted two months before her death that she was in “great danger” with her kidney disease. “My kidneys are a victim of not knowing my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine,” Tina explained in her profile. The diseases

Tina Turner also suffered from high blood pressure and decided to treat her with homeopathic remedies, but was unable to prevent kidney failure. She was recommended a kidney transplant, but the chances of getting one were slim and she was told to start dialysis. Tina Turner has also dealt with euthanasia and has joined an association that deals with it. Eventually, her husband Bach offered to donate her a kidney: the transplant took place on April 7, 2017.
