Tori Spelling is being targeted by California tax authorities over approximately $96,000 in unpaid taxes… Star has had a difficult year due to her split from Dean McDermott and financial and housing issues

The California State Franchise Tax Board has filed multiple tax liens against Tori Spelling totaling approximately $96,000 for unpaid taxes.

Tax officials named Spelling, 50, as a lien for two alleged debts: a sum of $59,049.02 for unpaid taxes in 2017, 2018 and 2019; and $36,717.11 for taxes unpaid in 2021, The Blast reported Wednesday after reviewing records in the case.

According to the outlet, authorities filed a lien against the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star’s home in Calabasas, California.

The board said in its statement that fees and interest expenses would continue to accumulate until the balances were paid, the outlet reported.

It’s been a trying year for Spelling, who, in addition to her financial woes, has struggled with unsafe living conditions, physical illness and a separation from her estranged husband Dean McDermott.

McDermott announced on Instagram last June that he and Spelling were ending their long-term relationship.

“It is with great sadness and very, very heavy hearts that after 18 years together and five amazing children, @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and begin a new journey of our own,” McDermott said.

He added: “We will continue to work together as loving parents, supporting and loving our children through this difficult time.” “We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take the time to surround our family with love and ourselves struggling through this situation.”

Spelling and McDermott have five children together: Liam (16), Stella (15), Hattie (12), Finn (11) and Beau (six). McDermott is also father to son Jack, 25, whom he shares with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace, 61.

Both appear to have moved on to new romances following their split, as Spelling was seen with advertising executive Ryan Cramer, while McDermott was linked to businesswoman Lily Calo.

In August, an insider told US Weekly that Spelling was “not doing well financially” after years of making rash decisions with her money.

The source said: “She hasn’t necessarily been financially conscious with her money and considerate of the family’s future over the years and it’s catching up with her.”

Spelling was seen in August while staying at a mobile home park in Ventura County, California with her five children. The family was previously seen staying at a $100-a-night motel in Ventura County.

Spelling left a rental home where she and her children had been staying in May because of what she said was an ongoing mold problem that was negatively impacting the family’s health.

The litany of tough breaks marks a reversal of fortune for Spelling, who grew up in Hollywood luxury as her late father Aaron Spelling co-starred in hit shows like “Dynasty,” “Charlie’s Angels” and “The Love Boat,” as well as “Melrose Place,” “Charmed ” and “Beverly” produced Hill, 90210.

Aaron left a $500 million empire, Tori’s inheritance was $800,000.

She has had a complicated relationship with her mother, Candy, over the years: Aaron Spelling died in June 2006, less than a year after Tori made headlines in 2005 for her extramarital affair with McDermott while both were married; her to Charlie Shahnaian and McDermott to Eustace.

She and McDermott eloped in Fiji in May 2006, just a month before Aaron’s death.

In her 2008 book sTORI Telling, Tori said that her family was disappointed by her elopement with McDermott and that mother and daughter had spoken publicly about their complicated relationship in recent years.

While things appear to be on good terms – Tori wished her mother a happy birthday in September – it wasn’t immediately clear whether Candy has offered to help her daughter financially during her recent struggles.

Tori appeared to be recovering after spending several days in the hospital with an undisclosed illness over the summer when she entered a medical facility on August 17.

On August 20, she posted a picture of her hospital bracelet on social media while praising her children. She said at the time: “Grateful and so proud of my strong, brave, resilient and kind children who stay positive no matter what comes our way.”

Before her hospitalization, Spelling was seen working on a project in Los Angeles.

A source told earlier this month that Spelling is having “some money problems” and is therefore looking to return to the reality TV genre.

“Tori is in a bit of a pickle right now and is trying to figure out what her next job will be,” the source said.
