The number of tourists served doubles from the amount reached in the same period last year, the agency said, noting that among foreign travelers, the year-on-year increase was 5.9 times.
In recent statements, the director of the above entity, Dang Huong Giang, considered that the positive results achieved correspond to the impetus given to various cooperation activities to promote and develop domestic and international markets.
He pointed out that work is also being done on the design and marketing of new tourism products, as well as on organizing training courses to improve the quality of human resources in the sector.
In the future, he added, developing programs in partnership with provinces and key tourist cities in the northern region, Ho Chi Minh City, the southern provinces and the Central Highlands region will be stepped up.
Other nighttime products will also be introduced, including new activities in and around Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Streets, Son Tay Ancient Citadel and around Thien Quang Lake in Hai Ba Trung District.
Hanoi expects 22 million visitors this year, up 17.6 percent from 2022, of whom 19 million will be local tourists. Tourism revenue is estimated at $3,260 million, which, if achieved, would represent an annual increase of 28.2 percentage points.
In 2022, around 18.7 million travelers came to the capital of Vietnam, including 1.5 million international tourists. Activity in this sector contributed to the city’s coffers more than two thousand five hundred million US dollars.
