The post comes days after Travis paid a special tribute to his late friend DJ AM on the 14th anniversary of his tragic death by sharing a slew of photos on his Instagram Stories.
Travis notably worked with DJ AM and the two later formed their own group called TRV$DJAM.
Barker used his stories to pay tribute to the late star, whose real name was Adam Michael Goldstein. On August 28, 2009, he was found dead in his New York apartment at the age of 36 due to an accidental drug overdose.
He shared three retro black and white pictures of DJ AM but refrained from adding text and caption to the photos.
The two were bonded by a tragic event when they were the only survivors of a fatal plane crash.

Previously, they had the opportunity to perform live together at numerous events, such as the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
DJ AM had previously joined a group called “Crazy Town” in 1999, but left two years later to better focus on his own solo career.
By 2003, he had started to have more success and also started dating Lionel Richie’s daughter, Nicole Richie.
In 2005, Blink-182 went on hiatus and drummer Barker eventually formed the group TRV$DJAM with Adam, who had battled drug addiction throughout his life.
They began performing at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles in June 2008 and released their first mixtape entitled “Fix Your Face” online two months later on August 27, 2008.
On September 19, 2008, the duo performed at a college event called the T-Mobile Block Party in Columbia, South Carolina.
They then flew with assistant Chris Baker and security officer Charles Still and two pilots in a Learjet 60 from South Carolina to Los Angeles. However, shortly after takeoff, the plane encountered an emergency and crashed.
It was later reported that the accident was caused by “defective tires,” according to Billboard. The tragic incident killed Baker and Still as well as the two pilots, but Travis and DJ AM escaped the crash.
Because the plane was on fire, both suffered third-degree burns and were taken to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Georgia to recover. During a previous interview with People, per Today, DJ AM recalled the horrific accident.

“When the plane was on the runway, I took off my shoes and fell asleep. “The next thing I remember, we crashed into something,” he explained.
“I woke up to Travis screaming and the plane bursting into flames. I remember thinking it was like ‘Miami Vice’ where a car catches fire and you run before the gas tank explodes – we gotta get out of here!’
Adam continued, “Travis yanked the door open and slid on his butt over a burning sash. I tried to cover my face as I jumped through a fireball. As soon as I hit the ground, I remembered “Stop, Drop and Roll,” so I started rolling.”
After putting out the fire on his own body, he immediately jumped to Barker’s side to help put out his flames as well.
“My eyebrows and layers of skin were burned off my face. My forehead was scratched and the skin on my arm was hanging off. “I was in shock and didn’t feel anything.”
During an earlier interview with Larry King, Travis had also recalled the horrific moment, saying: “The landing gear slammed, it sounded like gunshots.”
“It sounded like someone was firing a gun near my head.” Then the plane just went out of control. “The plane would basically rise into the air, then crash and hit the ground, then rise.”
The musician added: “Every time we hit the ground the flames and smoke got bigger and before the final impact the plane was completely engulfed in flames.” “We were a ball of fire in the sky and I was honestly waiting that the light goes out.”

Sole Survivors: Both Travis and DJ AM were the sole survivors of a Learjet 60 plane crash on September 19, 2008, which killed two pilots as well as assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles Still
After the accident, both Travis and DJ AM decided not to get on a plane. However, in 2021, the drummer flew to Italy to overcome his fear with Kourtney Kardashian.
The flight was only his second since the crash, the first being a trip to Cabo. Travis had uploaded a picture of the nighttime ground taken from the plane, followed by a photo of DJ AM.
In a previous interview with Men’s Health, Barker explained that they were “each other’s therapists” during DJ AM’s lifetime following the accident, adding: “It was just him and me.”
He added: “When he left I thought, ‘Oh shit. I’m the only one in my club. “It’s just me.” And I find my ways to deal with it.’
After the duo recovered, they both focused on their careers and performed together at New Year’s Nation LA 2008 New Year’s Eve party.
Adam also became a DJ at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas after leaving his position at Caesar’s Palace. He briefly broke into the film industry, making a cameo as himself in Iron Man 2 DJing at Tony Stark’s party – played by Robert Downey Jr.
He later became the host of the drug intervention reality show called “Gone Too Far.” The series aired shortly after his death.
The star battled drug addiction for years since his teens and sought sobriety and help after attempting suicide at age 24.

In an essay published in Glamor in January 2008, DJ AM spoke candidly about his drug addiction, weight and eating issues.
“I was 14 years old and became known as “the fat kid from Philly.” For the next two years I did drugs every day until I went to my mom and actually asked her to send me to rehab,” he explained.
However, he added, “Unknown to my mother, the place was a horrible house of abuse that would eventually be closed.” He was 18 when he finally left.
“By the time I left rehab I hadn’t learned anything about recovery — I went to a few meetings, but after five months I went back to using drugs,” later adding, “I started going back to meetings and becoming distant me from friends who were still taking drugs. “The hardest thing to get used to was DJing sober.”
He revealed that he has worked at celebrity birthday parties for stars such as Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio.
“As the years went by, I got stronger and stronger, but my nutritional problems spiraled out of control. When I was 30, I weighed 324 pounds and hated my body more than anything and decided to have “gastric bypass surgery.”
Writing the essay, Adam wrote, “I’m 34 now and it’s been nine and a half years since I last drank or took drugs.” But I have to remind myself every day that I’m still a drug addict, never mind how much time I have behind me.’
“Every moment I’m five seconds away from walking up to someone, taking their drink from their hand and finishing it.” And if I can do that, I’ll be smoking crack at most in a week.’
In a July 2008 interview while filming MTV’s Gone Too Far, he told the network that he had “a flashback” while filming the project.
