Two NYPD officers were attacked near Times Square during New Year’s Eve celebrations – one stabbed in the head.
Witnesses said they heard gunshots around 9:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and saw dozens of police officers rushing to the bloody scene.
The suspect is said to have been shot dead by the police.
Early reports indicate that one police officer was stabbed and the other was attacked with a whistle. All three were taken to Bellevue Hospital and their condition is unknown.
Crime scene video shows revelers being herded out of the scene by cops trying to patrol the scene at 52nd Street and 8th Avenue.
Officers can be seen yelling at pedestrians to move away from the scene.
