Russia carried out a new drone and missile attack on four regions of Ukraine overnight, wounding at least three people, including a teenager, Ukrainian armed forces said on Sunday.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, eight Shahed explosive drones, two Iskander missiles and three S-300 missiles were fired overnight and only four drones were shot down.
“Various civilian sites and critical infrastructure were attacked in Poltava, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk,” it added, without providing details on the damage found.
For its part, the prosecutor's office in the Donetsk region stated that a rocket hit a residential area of the city of Myrnograd in the middle of the night, causing injuries.
“A 15-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man suffered injuries, cuts and bruises as a result of the explosion. “In a neighboring house, doctors diagnosed a 30-year-old resident with a head injury,” he said.
Almost every night, Russia bombs cities in Ukraine, saying it only targets military infrastructure, although there are numerous examples of attacks on civilian sites.
In return, Ukraine regularly targets cities near the border, especially Belgorod, but also – and successfully – industrial and military sites on Russian territory.
To counter these attacks and carry out their own attacks, Ukrainian authorities rely largely on weapons and ammunition from the West. However, due to internal differences, aid from the United States, which is by far the most important source of support, has been paralyzed.
The European Union is also at a standstill due to the blockade in Hungary and a European summit on the issue is planned for February 1st.
