One The Ukrainian MP exploded three grenades at a council meeting held this Friday (15) in a government building in the village of Keretsky in the city of Zakarpattia.
In the video released by the National Police of Ukraine, the man identified as Serhii Batryn, 53, enters the room, takes the grenades from his bag, unlocks them and throws them on the floor.
According to the Ukrainian press, the council met to discuss the 2024 budget and the salary issue sparked discussion.
Zakarpattia24, a local media, published that Batryn had disagreed with his colleagues over a salary increase for the council chairman despite the country being at war.
There were 26 people in the room at the time of the attack, six of whom were seriously injured and one person reportedly died.
According to a report published by the Kyiv Post, the deputy received medical attention and is alive, but his health condition was not reported.
Police are investigating the case to determine possible motives for the crime, but have already stated that they consider the attack an act of terrorism.
Batryn is a member of Servant of the People, the same party as President Volodmir Zelensky.
