In mid-January, Ron DeSantis got 9 delegate votes and Nikki Haley got 8. Vivek Ramaswamy, who was eliminated, still got 3 votes. After the primaries at the party's national conventions, delegates elect their party's presidential candidate; 1,215 delegate votes are needed for nomination as the Republican presidential candidate.
