Venezuela reiterates that peace can only be achieved through dialogue
Venezuela's Foreign Minister Yván Gil reiterated today that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect and a firm commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
Geneva. – Venezuela's Foreign Minister Yván Gil reiterated today that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect and a firm commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
Speaking at the Conference on Disarmament at the 55th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Gil explained that this enterprise faces an unprecedented challenge, but also a unique opportunity to reaffirm its relevance and ability to act.
The senior Venezuelan diplomat stressed in his message to the plenary session that we must not allow stagnation to define his legacy and that it is time to act decisively.
Gil stressed that at this critical moment, his government reaffirms its support for initiatives aimed at ending violence, respecting the sovereignty of the people and progressing towards a safer world.
