Billie Eilish20, opened her heart as she opened up about her diagnosis Tourett syndrome. The singer discovered she had the disorder, which was characterized by repetitive movements and sounds, at the age of 11.
In conversation with David Letterman in the fourth season of the series The next guest needs no introductiongives Netflixthe artist said that sometimes people do not understand what is happening.
“The most common response people have is laughing because they think I’m trying to be funny,” she said. “And I’m always incredibly offended.”
The winner of grammy said other artists have told her they also have Tourette’s Syndrome, but she said she “wouldn’t share them because they don’t want to talk about it.”
Next, Letterman asked if she had a hard time talking about the condition. “No way,” Billie replied. “I really love answering questions about it because it’s very, very interesting. And I’m incredibly confused about it. I do not get it.”
The singer went on to say that she had “minor” tics as a child: “They’re really draining for me,” but explained that she’s “befriended them now.”
