In the accompanying shoot, Victoria opted for pure high-fashion art, posing with her hair slicked back from the shadows in one snap and flaunting her lithe limbs in a separate ballet-inspired shot.

Victoria confessed that despite her successes, she has to work hard to be above average, saying: “I always had to work really hard.” At school I had to work really hard to get below average grades…

“When I danced and sang, I had to work really hard to be good, but I was never good enough.” I was a good dancer. I was a good singer. People were very quick to say, “You can't sing.” I can joke about it better than anyone…

“I’m going to get upset. I mean, of course I could sing a little. But I always had to work very hard to be good at anything. That’s why the Spice Girls worked: individually we were outsiders, but together we worked.”
