Man stabbed in Buenos Aires enters injured ice cream parlor and asks for help

The death of an Argentine man stabbed during a robbery in Buenos Aires on Wednesday evening (30) shocked the neighboring country and gained widespread attention in local newspapers. A video shows the moment when civil engineer Mariano Barbieri, 42, entered an ice cream parlor immediately after his injury and asked for help. Look up.

The crime took place in Palermo, a middleclass neighborhood that is home to some of the city’s main tourist attractions. According to the Argentine press, the man was hit in the chest with a knife when his mobile phone was stolen. The victim was taken to hospital after an ambulance was called, but died in hospital from cardiac arrest.

Video surveillance images from the ice cream parlor on Avenida Libertador, one of the Argentine capital’s main streets, show the man entering the establishment with his shirt lifted up, showing he was injured. Employees and customers approach him, but the engineer soon falls to the ground.

In the video, a man stands near the victim and tries to help him, and an employee even pulls out his cell phone as if asking for help. “I don’t want to die,” Barbieri reportedly said to the Argentine press, according to witnesses.

Police are still trying to recover images from surveillance cameras in the area to understand the dynamics of the crime and find out which direction the attacker fled.

A knife with a bloodstain was found Thursday morning in a park near where the victim was rescued. No suspect was identified as of the last update to this report.
