The 21-year-old initiated a two-on-one run against the New York Islanders against teammate Kevin Shattenkirk late in the first period. Having possession of the puck, he slipped it between his legs, ignoring the presence of defender Ryan Pulock, only to pass it to his partner, who immediately defeated goaltender Ilya Sorokin with a wrist shot.

However, this beautiful piece of play was not enough for the Ducks. After taking the lead in that game, they watched the visitors score five goals without reply to go down 6-2. Zegras has 21 goals and 36 assists for 57 points in 68 games so far this season.
