Lee-Anne Bergevin has a vibrant personality and a powerful voice that hasn't gone unnoticed since the beginning of season 10 The voice. Even though she knows she doesn't have the “standard physique” that the entertainment industry strives for, she doesn't let that get her down.
On Sunday, the 26-year-old Montrealer, who we saw at L'École des Fans when he was 7, was eliminated by Corneille. The coach favored Anaïs Goulet, 18, of Drummondville. However, France D'Amour caused a surprise by “stealing” Lee-Anne, who thus remained in the competition. France will no longer be able to “fly” in duels.

The transition from complete disappointment – all the coaches had preferred her performance to Anaïs's – to a feeling of intense joy not only sparked strong emotions in Lee-Anne, but this section of the duels also sparked a moment on TV that we like her.
The two candidates sang Aimer d'amour from Boule noire, and Lee-Anne allowed herself to push the tone harder than Corneille wanted. The coach wanted a gentle R&N version of this hit from the late 1970s.
“At the beginning, Anaïs was at a disadvantage because it was a song in French that she didn’t know. But the way it was handled ultimately left me at a disadvantage,” said Lee-Anne.

“I really gave it my all and stayed true to my identity.”
She is happy to have joined the D'Amour team, the coach she originally dreamed of. Unfortunately, the latter didn't turn around during her blind audition.
The weight question
In an interview, Lee-Anne opens up about her body image and admits that her excess weight, which doesn't meet Instagram standards, can work against her.
“I would say yes, but at the same time it gives me even more drive. I need to redouble my efforts and it just confirms to me that at this point we as a society have succeeded in reducing the stigmatization of various bodies. I think we have come a long way to get on television and to get my place at La Voix,” said the woman who, despite the confidence she exudes, often has doubts.
“I often question myself and often wonder if it would be easier if I had a different, standardized body type. My journey might have been less rocky if I had a different body image. But it's a waste of time if I doubt. I'm not getting anywhere with this. By committing to it, I move forward, and when I remember that singing is what I love most, I find my confidence again.”
She particularly admires Renée Wilkin, who made “La Voix” ten years ago and is following her path as she is.
Lee-Anne, a dental secretary, dreams of a career on the stage. She already has a group, Licksmtl, with her lover Patrick Koury and other musicians. They perform in bars and cabarets, but his goal is to one day make a living from his music.
