Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic met the Boston crowd for the first time on Friday at the legendary Fenway Park.
Lucic threw the ceremonial pitch before the Red Sox’s game against the Baltimore Orioles. The veteran received warm applause from the crowd, who also chanted his nickname “Looch.”

The British Columbia native signed a one-season, $1 million contract with the Massachusetts team when the recent free agent market opened. He also won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011. He played in that organization from 2007 to 2015 before moving to the Los Angeles Kings. The 35-year-old then played three seasons with the Edmonton Oilers before being traded to the Calgary Flames, with whom he spent four seasons.
The Vancouver native scored 19 points during the 2022-23 season, including seven goals in 77 games.
