Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Egor Zamula found the back of the net twice against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, but his first goal of the game is certainly one of the strangest since the start of the season.
During a power play midway through the first period, forward Joel Farabee fired a shot at Mads Sogaard's goal. However, the puck deviated very high in the air before reaching the Senators goalie. The players on both teams then stopped playing, believing that Sogaard had stopped the disc.

The only one who didn't was Zamula. The latter grabbed the precious thing near the gang and then hurled it into an empty cage. During this strange action, the referees whistled the game before the defender scored a goal. However, after reviewing the game via video, the referees concluded that the whistle had no influence on the progress of the game.
The senators come from behind
This first success for the Russian guard ultimately had no impact on the Ottawa club, as they came from behind to win 5-3.
Jacques Martin's men didn't make things easy for themselves, however, as they trailed 3-1 after a Farabee goal with 9:10 left in the second period. Less than a minute later, Tim Stützle reduced the deficit to one goal, while Claude Giroux equalized early in the third period.
Vladimir Tarasenko then gave the guests the lead for the first time. Stützle finally sealed the outcome of the game by scoring his team's fifth goal into an empty net.
