The listeners of the radio station ORF Ö1 were surprised: on Wednesday morning, at 7 am, the news from the “Morgenjournal” could not be heard as usual. Music played instead. The reason was a large-scale transmission failure. The “morning diary” could only be heard as usual from 7:15 am. Ö1 apologized on Twitter.
There was also a glitch between 8 and 9 am in the broadcast of “Ö1 Journal at eight”. However, the transmission resumed. Missed contributions should be able to be heard online later.
The issue arose from upgrade work in the area of signal processing. Once that was done, the signal distribution system could not return to normal operation, clarified the ORF.
