Referee Fernando Rapallini mentioned that the game was abandoned when they received notification that a fan was “serious”. Minutes later, they decided to stay the trial as his death was confirmed.

“He died on the spot from very severe trauma,” Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) Director Alberto Crescenti told sports media DSports.
After hearing the news, Rapallini reached out to both teams’ captains, River’s Franco Armani and Defensa y Justicia’s Ezequiel Unsain, to inform them of the decision to pause the game, which was tied at 0-0.
“He fell from about 15 meters, there was no shock,” added Crescenti.
