The British guitarist and actor was 75 years old.

“This is the announcement we never intended to make, and it is with a very heavy heart that we make it: Wilko Johnson has passed away,” the tweet read. “He died at home on Monday November 21st. Thank you for respecting the family’s privacy at this very sad time. Rest in peace, Wilko Johnson.”
The cause of death was not disclosed. In 2013, Johnson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but recovered after a long and delicate surgery.
Johnson had had a solid musical career, establishing himself as the guitarist for the English rock band Dr. Feelgood made a name for itself. In 1977 he left the band under circumstances that were never clarified, he had dedicated himself to a solo career. He played Ilyn Payne in four episodes of Game of Thrones. Payne, a mute knight who had his tongue removed, had Ned Stark executed in Season 1 and ended up on the kill list of the vengeful Arya Stark, Ned’s daughter.
