LDU suffered more than was necessary to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Copa Sudamericana. Against Ñublense, the Ecuadorian club went down to penalties, which they agonizingly won 4-3. Now, in the quarter-finals, the white team meets the powerful Sao Paulo of Brazil, a team against which James Rodríguez and Lucas Moura, their brand new pursuers, will face off Paul Guerrero and companies.
As in the last five games, coach Luis Zubeldía would count on the Peruvian striker’s experience for his starting XI in the first leg. DT Dorival Júnior, on the other hand, would opt to save the Colombian to allow Moura’s presence from the start.
