Woman removes 47 kg tumor in her ovary: “It felt like I was pregnant with ten children”

Among the symptoms of the tumor, Allison recorded a yearlong menstrual cycle Facebook/Ascension St. Vincents Jacksonville

The young American Allison Fisher, 20 years old, rose to fame in the Florida (USA) newspapers after having surgically removed an ovarian tumor weighing approximately 47.1 kg.

Allison told local Jacksonville broadcaster News4Jax that the painting began in 2020, when she registered a menstrual cycle that ended up lasting a full year and realized something was wrong.

Because she didn’t have a health plan, feared the expense — and the trauma of always being told her problems would only be solved if she lost weight — the young woman avoided seeking medical help, hoping it would just pass.

It didn’t help. She also began to feel severe pain in her abdomen.

In 2021, Allison saw her mother receive a cancer diagnosis and die. It was then that he understood that he had to worry about his own health. In November of that year, she took heart and sought help at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside.

“It was also the peak of the pandemic and I was scared to go outside. I didn’t want to try to find doctors. I didn’t have health insurance either, so I just completely ignored my problems. [Mas] After seeing my mother’s struggle and what she went through, I realized that I shouldn’t put off my problems the way I was.”

Tests showed a noncancerous tumor on her ovary, and surgery was indicated to remove it. Just before Christmas, Allison was taken to the operating room after suffering from vaginal bleeding so profuse it was a bleed, according to the British tabloid Chron.

Doctors then removed the 47 kg tumor, which measured about 50 cm x 50 cm.

Before the surgery, Allison weighed about 500 pounds and has lost about 100 pounds since the surgery.

The young woman now intends to have bariatric surgery to control her weight she wants to keep it between 70 and 90 kg.

Speaking on TV, the young woman claimed that the growth of the mass made her feel like she was pregnant with ten children and prevented her from lying on her stomach, which created the feeling of crushing the organs.

Today she’s celebrating being able to see her own feet, which she hasn’t done in years.

Allison’s fertility was still intact. During the operation, doctors located the woman’s left ovary, which was the same size but had been twisted three times due to complications which was properly relocated during the procedure.

“I feel a lot lighter. I feel human, I can wear clothes, I can do things that normal people can do,” he explained.

In closing, Allison stressed that people should seek medical help and not delay it for fear of the cost.

The doctor. Dmitry Aryutin was the head of the surgical team that performed the procedure. In the pictures we see how the doctor cuts the last strips of tissue that still connect the tumor to the woman’s body. The size of the cyst is so absurd that the doctor needs both arms to carry it, load it. But despite the power of the image, the patient is doing well and is already recovering from the surgery.

Ovarian tumors can grow to absurd sizes because they usually don’t cause any symptoms and are therefore difficult to detect in the early stages. Some patients don’t realize something is wrong until the growth of the mass begins to press against their bladder and kidneys.
