Reigns vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania 40
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats) that WWE still plans to pit Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 on April 6-7, 2024 at the Lincoln in Philadelphia will take place finance area.
That would be a rematch of their WrestleMania 39 main event, in which Reigns retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Title after Solo Sikoa hit Rhodes with a Samoan spike while Paul Heyman distracted the referee. Reigns then spears Rhodes to victory.
For now, Rhodes has started a program with Brock Lesnar, while Reigns was just stuck for the first time since December 2019 after he and Sikoa lost the Bloodline Civil War at Money in the Bank to Jimmy and Jey Uso.
However, it looks like Rhodes and Reigns will get back into another feud just in time for WrestleMania.
Logan Paul vs Ricochet
WWE reportedly spontaneously changed course during Money in the Bank to create a better and smoother entry into a rivalry between Logan Paul and Ricochet.
To set the scene, Ricochet Logan knocked Paul off the top ropes with a Spanish fly during the Money in the Bank ladder match. However, the complex and risky move ended with both wrestlers suffering very bad falls outside the ring as the maneuver didn’t seem to go as planned.
According to Meltzer (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), WWE wanted to use the Spanish fly commercial as a springboard for a feud between Paul and Ricochet. Instead, the two fought backstage after the match, with Ricochet later calling out Paul as well.

Meltzer provided more information.
“The idea was that this point that we were talking about (the Spanish flight through the tables) was supposed to be something like a viral thing and it would go crazy and that would lead to the game.”
“And people saw it, but it wasn’t as smooth directing the game, so they did that angle (the backstage brawl) instead. They’ll be shooting the angle next Monday on Raw to direct the game.”
“Rather than having a ‘marquee’ match for Logan Paul, I think they want to get him to do an incredibly athletic match and Ricochet is your guy if you want to do that.”
The two high flyers could put on a great show if given the chance. They’re capable of creating great spots, like their royal rumble bounce off the top ropes. But the feud could go deeper and showcase the couple’s incredible athletic talents on a big stage.
Rousey states that WWE cut match time for Tag Team Title
said Ronda Rousey inside her latest Instagram post that WWE previously reduced the playing time of the Women’s Tag Team Championship three times.
Highlights of the game included the caption, “When your time is cut three times but you still put on an awesome #ChickenSalad 🍗🥗 #TagTeamChampionships.”
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Rousey and Shayna Baszler in exactly nine minutes to secure the championship belts. During the match, Baszler turned on Rousey, hitting her with the Kirifuda clutch and ultimately leading to the challengers’ victory.
Eyes now turn to a potentially explosive feud between Rousey and Baszler. The highly decorated mixed martial arts fighters (and true best friends) can easily create one of the best storylines and feuds of the year on this occasion.
Baszler has been in Rousey’s corner on WWE TV for almost a year, but her recent facelift is changing that. We’ll see where it goes soon.
