NFL: Marc Trestman finds a new job

Former Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman is back in the NFL after being hired by the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 68-year-old worked as a senior offensive assistant under head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Trestman's last stint in the NFL was in 2016, when he was offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. The Minnesota native was the head coach of the Chicago Bears (2013-2014) and also held several positions with the following organizations: the Minnesota Vikings (1985-1986 and 1990-1991), the Buccaneers Tampa Bay (1987), Cleveland Browns (1988-1989 ), San Francisco 49ers (1995–1996), Detroit Lions (1997), Arizona Cardinals (1998–2000), Raiders of Oakland (2001–2003), the Miami Dolphins (2004) and the New Orleans Saints (2007).

Trestman made it to the Canadian Football League with the Alouettes in 2008. He led the Belle Province team for five seasons and won the Gray Cup twice with them. The American was also a pilot for the Toronto Argonauts (2017-2018) and triumphed again on Canadian soil.

Trestman's last job in football was in 2020, when he served as head coach and general manager of the XFL's Tampa Bay Vipers.
