TURIN. Francesca Gentile Camerana passed away this morning. She was born in London on February 8, 1939 and died in Turin, her city since the 1960s, after marrying Oddone Camerana. A woman of culture and great sensitivity, she has dedicated her life to classical music. First as a musician, after graduating in transverse flute at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, and then applying for its dissemination.

In 1988 he founded De Sono, an association dedicated to young people and supporting talent in their education, of which he became President. In 1997 he officially launched the association Lingotto Musica, born after the reuse project of the industrial building of the same name in Turin, where will emerge the auditorium designed by Renzo Piano, then named after Giovani Agnelli, whose inauguration will take place on May 6th 1994. At Lingotto Musica, Francesca Gentile Camerana was the creator and artistic director until the 2022-2023 season, the last season signed by her, which will see the light of day next October.
