The Black List has been gaining fans for almost 10 years. Its 9th season premiered in the last few days, but one of its main characters didn’t appear in the premiere. The absence of actress Megan Boone, who has played Liz Keen since the show’s first season, was soon noticed by fans.

Boone’s departure from the series came as no surprise to the cast and crew, although fans weren’t expecting it. According to Deadline, Boone made the decision to leave the series long before that be renewed for Season 9. Therefore, the writers had time to find a suitable ending for Liz.

Liz Keen really died The Black List?
The Black List already has a long history of “killing” its characters just to have him return in its new seasons. Therefore, fans of the series hypothesized that Liz didn’t actually die in season 9.

Apparently the show’s directors have big plans to continue it without Boone’s presence. So much so that the series has already been renewed for a 10th season. One such revelation was made by James Spader during an interview with The Tonight Show. The actor explained during the interview:
“We received confirmation this afternoon and everyone rushed to announce it during the show.”
