Hilary Duff is dealing with a problem that so many working parents struggle with – having to go to work and leave their sick child at home.
The 34-year-old actress has revealed that her youngest daughter, Mae, 16 months, has hand, foot and mouth disease, a highly contagious virus that shows up as sores in the mouth and rashes on the hands and feet.
In a Wednesday post on her Instagram Stories, the How I Met Your Father star wrote, “None of my other kids have ever had hand, foot, mouth so I’ve never seen it before and it looks awful,” she shared , then added, “And I couldn’t be with her all day because I’m at work.”

What is hand, foot and mouth disease?
Hand, foot, and mouth disease is common in children under the age of 5, but anyone can get it.
