Hungry and destructive Kylian Mbappe scored twice in France’s 3-1 win over Poland on Sunday to secure his place in the World Cup quarter-finals.
At the end of a defiant first half by Poland, Mbappe set up Olivier Giroud for France’s opener as the AC Milan striker became the country’s all-time top scorer with 52 goals ahead of Thierry Henry.
Mbappe dazzled Poland in the second half, scoring two sensational goals home. In the 75th minute he fired past Wojciech Szczesny with a powerful shot before firing a lavish shot into the top corner in added time.
Robert Lewandowski scored a penalty with the last shot of the game after Dayot Upamecano handled the ball in the penalty area.
