She’s been making headlines lately.

But Olivia Wilde focused on herself amid the drama as she hit the gym in Studio City on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old actress/director bared her abs in a gray sports bra and matching leggings as she emerged from the gym with her hair tied in a messy bun.

With a towel thrown over her shoulders, Olivia exuded cool as she strolled down the street in her black sneakers.

She was carrying an assortment of items in one hand, along with a forest green sweatshirt in the other.

Black sunglasses protected her blue eyes and she appeared makeup-free, with only a coat of black nail polish jazzing up the look.

The sighting comes days after the former nanny to Wilde and her ex Jason Sudeikis told what was really behind their messy split and the ongoing drama surrounding Don’t Worry Darling.

Wilde claimed that her split from the former Saturday Night Live star was a mutual decision in her cover story for Vanity Fair, published in September.

“Our relationship was over long before I met Harry,” she said in the interview, even going so far as to cite claims that she left Sudeikis for the younger “Horses***” singer-actor.

But their former nanny, who looked after the couple’s two children, Otis, eight, and Daisy, six, denied Wilde’s statements, citing photos of Wilde and Sudeikis enjoying a day at the beach in September 2020 as evidence.

“Look at her ring on Labor Day weekend [of 2020]. We were in Malibu for Labor Day weekend,” she told .

“That was just before she started dating Harry. She wears her Jason engagement ring and laughs as she lies on the beach.”

The nanny went on to claim that Wilde was still in talks in her presence about a future marriage to Jason as late as October 2020, which was just a month before she reportedly began her relationship with Harry, but appeared to have passed several months after she claimed to have had the matter her partner ended.

The nanny added that the Booksmart director even wanted her daughter Daisy to serve as the flower girl at the ceremony.

The nanny suggested that Wilde’s confusing schedule may have worked to her new boyfriend’s advantage.

“Olivia continued to defend herself and I think she did it for Harry because she wanted Harry to think things were over for a long time – and they weren’t,” she claimed.

Wilde and Sudeikis have dismissed the nanny’s claims as “false and whimsical” and the ex-boyfriends have accused her of waging an “18-month campaign of harassment” against her family.

The nanny also claimed Olivia once whipped up some of her “special salad dressing” to take to the former One Direction while she was still dating Jason.

After the controversy exploded on social media, several users shared their curiosity about Olivia’s special salad dressing.

In a nod to the saga, the actress later shared the recipe on Instagram, revealing that it was taken from Nora Ephron’s novel Heartburn, a fictional account inspired by the dissolution of her marriage to legendary journalist Carl Bernstein, who had cheated on her.

The novel was later adapted into a film starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson and directed by the late Mike Nichols.

While filming Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde moved out of her family home to Los Angeles’ chic $1,650 a night Paramour Estate Hotel.

Despite allegedly calling the move necessary due to an on-set Covid outbreak, she split from Sudeikis days later during a visit to their home.

The former couple began dating in 2011 and the Horrible Bosses star proposed to the actress in 2013.

Their son Otis was born the following year, with Daisy following in 2016.

Since their split, Olivia and Jason’s conflicts have sometimes come out in the open. In April, the actress was delivered self-adhesive papers at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where she spoke to a host of high-profile film industry executives.

“It was my place of work,” Olivia complained when speaking to Variety. “It was really annoying. It shouldn’t have happened.’

She claimed the incident was “something that required forethought” while hitting on her ex.

“There’s a reason I left this relationship,” she said.

Steve Nash Fire Chief of the Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets fired coach Steve Nash on Tuesday after a disastrous start to the NBA season with two wins and five losses. “The Brooklyn Nets and head coach Steve Nash have agreed to part ways,” the Brooklyn franchise said in an official statement. Nash, 48, has been coaching the Nets since September 2020, but his team’s performance has fallen short of the lofty ambitions of the team, which has invested in the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons.

Brooklyn also passed James Harden, who finally joined the Philadelphia 76ers last February to pick up Simmons. After failing in the first round of the playoffs last season with a stunning 4-0 series against the Boston Celtics, the Nets started the season on negative terms. The coach was fired even though the Nets painfully beat the Indiana Pacers (116-109) at home this Monday. This triumph broke a streak of four consecutive defeats.

“We would like to thank Steve for everything he has contributed to our franchise over the past two years. Since his acquisition, Steve has faced an unprecedented set of challenges and we are grateful for his leadership, patience and humility,” said Sean Marks, general manager of Nets. “For me personally, it was an enormously difficult decision. After much thought, however, as our season started, we decided that a change was necessary.” The Nets also reported that they will shortly make a decision on who will become the new manager. The Brooklyn team plays the Chicago Bulls at home this Tuesday.

The Nets could move quickly to replace Nash. According to ESPN, a person close to the team said the franchise is in talks with suspended Boston coach Ime Udoka, who was an assistant coach at Brooklyn. Udoka was paused by the Celtics earlier this season after it was found that he broke team rules by having a relationship with an organization employee.

The two men acquitted of killing Malcolm X will receive $36 million

Victims of one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in African American history, two men exonerated in 2021 after twenty years each in the 1965 murder of Malcolm X will receive a total of $36 million from the city and state of New York.

• Also read: Malcolm X’s family calls for the murder investigation to be reopened

Lawyer David Shanies, defense attorney for Muhammad Aziz, 84, and the family of Khalil Islam, who died in 2009, confirmed in an email to AFP on Sunday evening that an “injustice has been acknowledged today and a modest step has been taken to right it.” . .

In response to inquiries from The New York Times, New York City Hall’s legal department had previously entered into a financial compensation agreement with “MM. Aziz and Islam wrongly convicted for this crime”: the murder of Malcolm X on February 21, 1965 in the gallery of the Audubon Ballroom, a theater in Harlem, a north Manhattan borough.

The two men, members of Malcolm X’s Nation of Islam movement, had been sentenced to long prison terms in 1966 and had spent a combined 42 years behind bars – about 20 each – for a murder they never committed.

Spectacular turn of events

But on November 19, the New York State Supreme Court acquitted her in a historic perversion of the court.

The judiciary had even acknowledged their “failure” by jailing two innocent people for the 1960s murder of the black cause icon in the United States.

The disappearance of Malcolm X was a thunderbolt in the painful history of African Americans. A “tragedy felt worldwide (…) and compounded by the fact that it resulted in the conviction and imprisonment of two young, innocent black men in America,” denounced attorney David Shanies.

He confirmed the New York Times’ figures: $26 million from New York City and $10 million from New York State.

Muhammad Aziz, who was released in 1985, and Khalil Islam, who was released in 1987 and died in 2009 at the age of 74, have always maintained their innocence.

The third convict, Mujahid Abdul Halim, had then admitted to having shot Malcolm X and exonerated his two co-defendants, but to no avail.

Until the New York Judiciary will reopen the case in 2020.

Netflix documentation

It was in fact necessary to wait for the broadcast of a documentary on Netflix in February 2020 (“Who Killed Malcolm X?”), which renewed doubts about the presence of MM. Aziz and Islam at the crime scene.

After months of retrials, then-Manhattan prosecutor Cyrus Vance has teamed up with attorneys for both men and a miscarriage of justice organization, The Innocence Project, to file an eviction petition in the New York Supreme Court.

And last November, live on television and to applause, prosecutor Vance offered an “apology” from the US Department of Justice for “decades of injustice” and “unacceptable violations of the law and public trust.”

In court, he “recognized the seriousness of this error” without going into the rumors about the then problematic role of the federal police (FBI) and that of New York.

Malcolm X threatened

At the time of his assassination, Malcolm X, 39, a radical figure in the African American cause accused by his critics of inciting violence and separatism, had left the “Nation of Islam” and taken a more consensual turn.

He was then threatened by members of his former movement, and a few days earlier his home in New York had been the target of an attack.

The Netflix documentary is based on the thesis of a Washington lay historian, Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, who defends MM’s innocence. Aziz and Islam and that the third convict who admitted the facts was acting with four other members of the “Nation of Islam” from a mosque in Newark, New Jersey, near New York.

The assassination of Malcolm X had rocked the United States into full political and social tensions in the 1960s marked by the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and the assassination of civil rights figure Martin Luther King in 1968.

TJ Oshie’s name was added to a long list of injuries on Monday, so coaches will have to find solutions, as was the case last year.

Oshie was injured in the first period of Saturday’s game against the Nashville Predators. He will be out indefinitely with a lower body injury. In doing so, he joined cripples Tom Wilson, Nicklas Backstrom, Carl Hagelin and Connor Brown.

“It’s a bit like last year,” said former Montreal Canadiens Lars Eller, according to the National Hockey League’s official website. [LNH]. We were still five or six guys short of the lineup. We are facing a similar scenario and we are not out of place. But we will miss her.”

Oshie has two goals and five points in nine games this season. He missed 38 games last year due to injury.

The Surete du Quebec answers Jonathan Bettez

The Sûreté du Québec answers Jonathan Bettez

The Surete du Québec (SQ) on Friday responded to the $10 million civil lawsuit brought by Jonathan Bettez, who provincial police have long considered a prime suspect in the murder of Cédrika Provencher.

• Also read: Cédrika, 15 years later: The hope of payment remains

• Also read: Jonathan Bettez and his family are being questioned in their $10 million lawsuit against the SQ

Jonathan Bettez criticizes the Sûreté du Québec for doing everything to convince the population that he is a murderer and a pedophile.

However, in a document filed with Montreal court last Friday, SQ attorneys indicate they believe there is no ground for prosecution. They are asking the court to deny the Bettez family’s motion.

The lawyers assure that his right to the presumption of innocence has not been violated. “The presumption of innocence cannot be disregarded without charge,” reads an excerpt from the court document.

Therefore, after several interrogations, the SQ’s lawyers are preparing a written defense at the request of the Bettez family. “We will dispute several claims and we will argue that there was no fault, there is certainly no causal link and there is no cause for these damages. He was not charged, although he was always the first target,” said retired judge Nicole Gibeault.

  • Listen to the court report with Félix Séguin live daily at 8:35 a.m. via QUB radio :

Jonathan Bettez also accuses the police of conducting illegal searches, seizures and searches based on misleading information. He was arrested in 2016 and later acquitted of all child pornography charges.

The SQ replies that the police were not at fault. “The defendants had every right to start a new investigation on the basis of a hunch. The future has also shown that these intuitions were valid,” the document says.

“Apparently, the Quebec court had a harsh decision closing the case because we conducted abusive searches. […] They don’t seize property unless you have a search warrant. We can go there intuitively, but we have to hone our intuition as a police officer until we find reasons,” says Ms. Gibeault.

The lawyers also consider the claims for damages of more than 10 million dollars demanded by the Bettez family to be “excessively exaggerated”. It is reported that there is no evidence that the police deliberately intended to harm Jonathan Bettez and that they could not foresee all the consequences claimed by the family, such as the possible sale of the Bettez packaging business.

As for his right to remain silent, it is reiterated that Jonathan Bettez has never waived it. The document also states that investigators have always respected his choice, proving that he never passed the lie detector test.

A Maryland family ordering a prop coffin for their spooky Halloween-themed party experienced their own horror when they discovered the dead person belonged and there were ashes in their rented coffin.

Baltimore resident Brooke Wozniak ordered the coffin from Facebook Marketplace but was horrified to learn the coffin wasn’t exactly – empty.

Inside the white steel coffin were a photo of the deceased, a death certificate, the person’s social security number, a George Washington University Hospital hospital bracelet and a white long envelope that Wozniak believes contained the person’s ashes, Fox5 DC reported.

All of the items had been taped to the inside of the coffin lining, the news outlet reported.

“Everyone was in shock,” revealed Wozniak.

After the initial shock wore off, Wozniak felt compelled to find the deceased’s family and created a TikTok video hoping the right person would see it.

“We need to find whoever’s next of kin is or who knows them,” she said.

After the video went viral, the dead woman’s granddaughter saw it and showed it to her mother, Sabrina Jones.

It was Jones who confirmed that the items in the rental coffin were in fact her mother, Edith Crews Meredy, a church pastor, who died of COVID in January.

After the ordeal, Jones met with Glenda Freeman, owner of Freeman Funeral Services in Clinton. At the funeral home, Jones had rented her mother’s coffin and a location to take care of her mother’s cremation.

Jones told Fox5 DC that Freeman was deeply apologetic and took care of the mishap, particularly the discovery of the sensitive documents. She also told her at the time that a number of the caskets had been handed over to a scrap shop for destruction.

During the bizarre incident, the Wozniaks also made a second discovery when they found information from another deceased person who was also left in the coffin.

Jones, who was distraught over the matter, was told by the funeral home that they were investigating and needed until Thursday to resolve the matter.

A 23-year-old Arizona woman has been arrested for drunk driving and charged with child molestation after leaving her five-month-old baby at home alone so she could go out drinking in the middle of the afternoon.

Clare Margaret Meacham was snapped Thursday after police received calls about a possible drunk driver. Once in custody, the drunk mother revealed to police that she “possibly” left her baby at home alone, CBS 5 Arizona reported.

When police arrived at Meacham’s East Mesa home near Signal Butte and Ray Road, they said they could hear the baby’s loud wailing from outside the home.

As soon as the police entered the house, they contacted the child safety department.

The baby was not hurt and authorities were waiting for a family member to arrive at the home and take custody of the child, the news outlet reported.

According to the woman’s doorbell camera, the footage shows the young mother leaving her home at around 12:44 p.m.

Less than two hours later, at around 2:20 p.m., police caught up with the beaten mother and accused her of child molestation.

Meacham told officers she couldn’t remember anything after leaving her baby in the crib before heading out.

Records show Meacham did not call a friend, neighbor or family member to help take care of her baby before she left her baby, the news outlet reported.

The 23-year-old mother reportedly lives alone, the New York Post reported.

The only other person who has access to Meacham’s Arizona home is the girl’s mother, the news outlet said.
