Hudon, 28, has eight goals and as many assists in 20 games with the Colorado Eagles this season in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Almas native’s last game in the Bettman Circuit dates back to August 21, 2020, when the Montreal Canadiens faced the Philadelphia Flyers in the playoffs in the bubble.

Hudon, a former fifth-round Habs pick, has 41 points in 125 National Hockey League games. Since leaving CH, he has progressed at Lausanne HC in the Swiss Premier League and at the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL.

On Saturday, “Avs” lost the services of another former Canadian, Artturi Lehkonen. The Finnish winger was forced to pull out of the game against the Boston Bruins after a violent contact with defender Charlie McAvoy.

The Avalanche are already dealing with the absence of Gabriel Landeskog, Valeri Nichushkin, Darren Helm, Evan Rodrigues and Martin Kaut.
