Havana, February 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuba will hear this Wednesday before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) the consequences of Israel's activities against the Palestinian people and other Arab residents of the occupied territories, official sources reported today.
Foreign Minister Bruno RodrÃguez confirmed this on the social network
In this context, the island requested a statement on the legal consequences of these practices and policies of the Zionist government towards the Palestinian people.
According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, in this organization his country will reaffirm its commitment to peace and the search for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian question.
The document, submitted by Cuba to the International Court of Justice on June 25, 2023, calls for a clear and direct declaration setting out all the legal consequences arising from genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Cuban complaint particularly highlights the injustices and historical atrocities that have characterized the apartheid regime's actions for more than 70 years in preventing the Palestinian people's exercise of self-determination and their right to live in their territories.
In recent statements, the deputy chairman of the Minrex, Anayansi RodrÃguez, denounced that this is happening with the complicity of some powers, such as the United States, which guarantee Israel impunity and prevent any effective action by the United Nations system using terrorists to exercise its authority, in the Security Council to veto this body.
Cuba is committed to a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the creation of two states and allowing the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination.
The solution also takes into account the existence of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, guaranteeing refugees the right of return.
