Tracy Grimshaw doesn’t like fools.
And there were few bigger fools during her 17-year tenure as host of Channel Nine’s A Current Affair as celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Ramsay, 55, made a scathing remark about Grimshaw’s performance after interviewing him on the show 13 years ago and later escalated their feud by calling her a “fat lesbian pig”.
But Grimshaw’s reaction to his vile attack showed she was the toughest woman on TV – and proves why she will be sorely missed when she steps down from ACA in November.

Ramsay, whose publicist had asked the show not to ask questions about his turbulent personal life, teased Grimshaw with a comment about a mole on her face after he taped her interview in 2009.
He likened it to “f**king Mount Etna” and asked if it was a “wart” when Grimshaw, clearly embarrassed, laughed awkwardly.
Ramsay made the remark after their conversation, but while the cameras were still rolling, and was later unhappy to see his “throw away line” aired on the show.
The foul-mouthed Kitchen Nightmares host retaliated by attacking Grimshaw in front of thousands of viewers at the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Show.
He called the veteran journalist a “fat pig” and a “lesbian” while showing a photo of a nude woman on her hands and knees with a pig’s face, and said Grimshaw needed to “go to Simon Cowell’s botox doctor.”
Ramsay later apologized and tried to make his remarks a joke, explaining through his publicist that he had a great relationship with Grimshaw and Channel Nine.

Grimshaw gave a scathing response to A Current Affair, telling viewers: “This isn’t a business for wimps and I’m not.
“Despite what his publicist said, we don’t have a great relationship. We have no relationship at all.
“I’ve acted with him in interviews because it’s entertaining and it’s my job.”
Grimshaw went on to describe Ramsay’s attack as hurtful and unfunny, calling him a bully and a narcissist.
She also clarified that she is not a lesbian.
Ramsay later apologized and tried to pass off his remarks as a joke, but Grimshaw (pictured) had none of it and delivered a scorching on-air takedown
“I’m not going to pretend his comments didn’t hurt. I was absolutely miserable when I found out,” she said.
‘He says it was a joke. Well, not to me or to anyone who really cares about me.
“Honestly, I wonder how many people would laugh if they were effectively described as an ‘old ugly pig.’ How’s that funny, exactly?’
“Apparently Gordon thinks that any woman who doesn’t find him attractive must be gay. For the record, I don’t know and I’m not,” she continued.
Her feud with Ramsay resurfaced after Grimshaw surprised viewers on Monday night by announcing she was stepping down as presenter of A Current Affair.
Widely regarded as one of Australia’s finest interviewers, the respected journalist has been at the helm of the news program for an impressive 17 years.
She explained she was “tired” after decades of shift work and insisted she hadn’t been kicked out of a “boys club” at Channel Nine.
