THE SERIES
Tim Burton, known for his style of macabre and weird films, will direct the liveaction series, which follows the Addams’ daughter Wednesday (Wandinha) as she attends high school.
“The series is a compelling and supernatural mystery that chronicles Wandinha Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” he explains.
“Wandinha’s attempts to master her nascent psychic abilities, thwart a wave of murders terrorizing the city, and attempt to solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago, in addition to forging new and difficult relationships at Nevermore master,” it says on the platform.

Catherine ZetaJones, who plays Wandinha’s mother Morticia Addams on the show, celebrated the news on her Instagram page, saying, “I have channeled Morticia Addams many times in my life and now I get to play her directed by the incomparable Tim Burton Netflix… I’m very excited! Reuniting with Luis Guzmán (my nemesis in the movie “Traffic”) as Gomez and the fabulous Jenna Ortega in the title role of Wandinha Addams. I can’t wait,” he said at the time.
