Beirut, June 25 (Prensa Latina) MP Taymour Jumblatt will head the Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) from today after being elected president of the main political force of the Druze community in Cedar Land.

By acclamation, Taymour will succeed his father, Walid Jumblatt, who has led the organization since the late 1970s and announced his retirement a month ago.

On the occasion of the 49th Congress of the PSP, the election of the leader of the Parliamentary bloc “Democratic Encounter” will assert the leadership of the power party of the Jumblatt family, one of the figures represented on the national political scene.
