Ukrainian counter offensive, USA warn Zelenskyy: "Unfulfilled Expectations"

1687446411 179 Ukrainian counter offensive USA warn Zelenskyy quotUnfulfilled

Signs of impatience on the part of the western forces in view of the announced Ukrainian offensive, which looks quite disappointing, at least in the initial phase. Three Western military officials, including a senior US military official, told CNN that the offensive in Kiev was having less success and that Russian forces were more capable than previous assessments had predicted.

The Ukrainian counteroffensive is a flop, even Zelenskyy has to admit

In short, the counteroffensive of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s army “does not live up to expectations on any front,” said one of the officials. According to Western assessments, the Russian defense lines have proven to be well fortified, making them difficult for Ukrainian forces to break through. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces have managed to block Ukrainian armor with missile and mine attacks and to use their air force more effectively. One of the western officials said Ukrainian forces are “vulnerable” to minefields and Russian forces are “competent” to defend them. The military warned that the counteroffensive is still in its early stages and that the United States and its allies “remain optimistic” that Ukrainian forces can make territorial gains over time. A first balance sheet looks disappointing. It’s likely that the United States and its allies will wait at least until July for a fuller assessment of counteroffensive progress, but from the NATO area the message to Kiev seems clear.

Shadow storm missiles against the Crimean bridge: the Ukrainian incursion

Russia, on the other hand, insists on pointing out the stalemate in the Ukrainian advance. “We are experiencing a pause” in the counter-offensive “because the enemy is suffering heavy casualties,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday, but admitted: “The offensive potential of the Ukrainian armed forces has not yet been exhausted, the Ukrainian armed forces are closing in.” new units of the brigades that have suffered casualties.”

Review: “No Hard Feelings” is a throwback to Jennifer Lawrence’s career

Saying it’s depressing Jennifer Lawrence Be the star of a movie like no hard feelings”, a Sony Pictures production premiering in Puerto Rico this Thursday, could be an extreme reaction. But if it’s not depressing, it’s definitely worrying. Is this the best Hollywood can offer a young actress who has already won an Oscar and been part of two successful franchises?

Aside from the film’s comedy being effective but definitely bumpy, or Lawrence embracing the racy humor of the kind of sex sitcom that dominated commercial cinema in the ’80s, No Hard Feelings just isn’t up the level of Lawrence Talent.

    CONTINUE SEEING MORE CONTENT

The actress gives herself completely to the film and in some scenes the awkwardness of the situations her character gets into will surely cause laughter. But that’s the kind of film a performer makes early in their career. It’s hard to imagine that Tom Cruise would have made Risky Business a far better comedy after the success he had with Top Gun. Likewise, despite all the controversies he’s had, Johnny Depp is unlikely to go back to making comedies like Private Resort to revitalize his career.

In “No Hard Feelings,” Jennifer Lawrence plays Maddie, a young woman whose unpredictable and irresponsible behavior has left her broke and with little chance of getting out of the hole she finds herself in. So desperate is he that he decides to accept the offer of some overprotective parents worried about their adolescent son’s emotional health. His logic is that if Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) If you date an attractive girl before you go to college, you have a better chance of having a more successful college life.

The development of this plot works when the film’s script puts the main characters in extreme situations where Maddie tries to awaken Percy’s non-existent sexuality. Where the film stumbles and feels completely compelled are the moments when it attempts to tie her emotional maturation to his.

The film suggests that they are not soul mates, but that his trauma is just as problematic as hers. This makes sense, but has very little on-screen credibility.

It’s clear that Jennifer Lawrence is leading this project because she either has no interest in it or hasn’t been given an opportunity to be a part of a more conventional comedy.

Due to the inconsistency of the footage, No Hard Feelings can be dismissed as the film in which Jennifer Lawrence is completely nude for an entire sequence, rather than the film in which the actress reveals her natural talent for comedy.

EU consumer associations denounce greenwashing by airlines

Consumer associations from 19 European countries have filed a complaint with the European Commission against 17 airlines for misleading consumers with information about environmental and climate protection. In particular, the system of so-called CO2 compensation – a voluntary climate protection surcharge when booking a flight – is nothing more than greenwashing, the European consumer association Beuc said on Thursday.

According to a legal analysis, there were violations of EU regulations. “Claims that paying additional fees can ‘offset’, ‘neutralise’ or ‘offset’ a flight’s CO2 emissions are factually incorrect,” said Beuc. Money flows to projects and activities whose contribution to climate protection is “highly uncertain”. “The damage caused by CO2 emissions from air travel, on the other hand, is certain.”

Additionally, consumer advocates denounce the fact that some airlines are charging surcharges for developing sustainable jet fuels. “These fuels are not yet ready for the market”, explains Beuc. Until the late 2030s, the fuel blend ratio will remain small – and consumers should not be charged for it.

Furthermore, it is a fundamental problem that airlines “give consumers the impression that flying is sustainable”. Because that’s not it and it won’t be “in the near future”. Should consumers incur costs as a result, state consumer protection officials would have to “ask airlines to reimburse their customers for the costs”.

Organizations from 17 EU countries, as well as Switzerland and Norway, are involved in the complaint, including the Federal Association of Consumer Organizations (vzbv). The EU Commission is therefore called upon to investigate airlines such as Lufthansa, Ryanair, KLM and others.

Lula says he neglected ideological issues when meeting Giorgia Meloni

Lula says he neglected ideological issues when meeting Giorgia Meloni

President says he is ‘very impressed’ with Italian PM; invited Giorgia to visit Brazil

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) praised Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni this Thursday (June 22, 2023), who comes from the right and has already criticized the Brazilian. The president said he puts aside ideological issues when he visits another head of state.

“When one head of state meets another, the ideological issue is not at stake. […] I came here to discuss what is important for both countries to win. “In no country I visit do I worry about the president’s ideological mindset,” he said.

The President spoke to journalists in Rome this Thursday morning after a series of meetings including with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday (21/06/2023). Shortly afterwards he traveled to Paris, where he will meet his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

Lula said he was “very impressed” with Meloni and celebrated the fact that she was the first woman to hold the position. “It’s already extraordinary news in the face of so many men. In a world that is still very sexist, it is an extraordinary fact that a woman won the election in Italy, as Dilma did [Rousseff] in Brazil,” he said.

The two met on Wednesday at the Chigi Palace, the seat of the Italian government in Rome. Due to “problems with the agenda” the meeting did not want to take place at first. However, the meeting was confirmed at the last minute as the President was on a flight to Italy.

There have been concerns from diplomats in both governments that Lula’s visit to the European country without a meeting with the prime minister may symbolize the intersection of ideological differences with the pragmatic agenda between Brasília and Rome. Lula said he invited Meloni to visit Brazil, a country she has never been to.

In the interview, Lula also said that Meloni will face “a lot of prejudice and machismo.” “The gender issue is still a heavy burden. There is an increase in hatred, violence and disrespect towards women,” he said.

The gender agenda and advocating greater women’s participation in politics are the influence of Brazilian First Lady Janja Lula da Silva, who has publicly debated these issues.

Lula also said that Meloni has “a straight head” and is intelligent. “We have to hope that it works in Italy and that the country can grow,” he said.

    Caesar Battisti

As a representative of the Italian right and founder of the Brothers of Italy party, Meloni has harshly criticized Lula in the past when he was in opposition. It essentially follows the case of former PAC (Armed Proletarians for Communism) member Cesare Battisti, convicted of four murders in Italy in the late 1970s.

Battisti spent 14 years in Brazil as a fugitive from Italian justice. Altogether he was in this state for 40 years. On the last day of his second term in 2010, Lula Battisti granted political sanctuary. The decision angered the Italians at the time. The government there demanded his extradition.

In December 2018, the Minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) Luiz Fux ordered the Italian’s arrest so that he could be extradited. In the same month, thenPresident Michel Temer (MDB) ordered his extradition. At the time, however, Battisti was considered a refugee.

By this time Battisti’s arrest had been decided by the Federal Court of Justice and the Michel Temer government was preparing for his extradition. But Battisti was again considered a fugitive. In January 2019, during Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) government, the terrorist was arrested in Bolivia and brought back to Italy, where he is serving a life sentence.

In March 2019, Battisti admitted his involvement in the four murders in the 1970s when he was active in leftwing armed groups rebelling against the governments of the time.

In April 2021, in an interview with TG2 Post, Lula asked forgiveness from the Italian people for not extraditing Battisti. “I apologize to the Italian people, I thought he was innocent but after his confession I can only apologize. I was wrong,” he said.

When former President Jair Bolsonaro was elected in 2018, Meloni celebrated by saying that the left had been defeated globally and by history. “Finally the peoples are regaining their freedom and sovereignty,” he said at the time.

    defense of immigrants

Lula also said that the left, particularly the European one, must have “the courage” to defend immigration, particularly for those fleeing conflict. The Brazilian leader also said that the political spectrum needs a “new utopia” to combat the growth of the right in the world.

“We must have the courage to defend the free movement of people just as the free movement of money is allowed. Money circulates in all countries without the need to present a passport. It takes more patience and maturity to defend migrants who flee because they cannot survive,” he said.

“It is normal for people to want to move from one place to another when there are centers of poverty and violence in the world. It is important to build this discourse, which will help bring it into conflict with the most conservative sectors in Europe, the United States, Latin America and everywhere,” he added.

Lula also defended that leftwing movements around the world, but especially in Europe, are creating a “new utopia” to overcome rightwing ideas. “There was a loss of discourse for the European left. We must build a new utopia to overcome the rightwing created utopia that the state is worthless, that the state must be weak and that only the private sector can solve problems. We need to build a different discourse,” he said.

Rai 2 restarts an old program but very bad comments

Rai 2 restarts an old program, but very bad comments pop up immediately: "We can’t wait to miss it" Southern Excellencies

Rai 2 is ready to restart a program from the past: here’s what it’s all about and why the public doesn’t seem happy with the choice

Rai is conducting a real revolution affecting all his networks. For example, if in the afternoon of Rai 1 the presenter Serena Bortone and her Oggi è un altro giorno are said goodbye and Rai 3 has already been orphaned by Fabio Fazio with Che Tempo che Fa and Lucia Annunziata with Mezz’Ora what will happen to Rai 2? Based on rumors that have now become certain, a game show is to be broadcast on the second channel in the slot in which Marco Liorni is to take over the direction of Reazione a Catena on Rai 1.

This is a return to television from the early 2000s. However, we will not see an iconic Rai character again. Not Cloris Brosca, the gypsy of the Black Moon – solid face of Citofonare Rai 2, nor Alessandro Greco (now fully devoted to the radio). Instead, Pino Insegno returns to public service with his program Il Mercante in Fiera. In short, before the conductor, voice actor and comedian joins The Legacy in January 2024, he will appear on state television with an iconic game show. But let’s learn more about the details.

Rai 2, Il Mercante in Fiera is back on TV: all the previews and criticisms of Pino Insegno

If for years Il Mercante in Fiera was a Mediaset product since it was broadcast by Italia 1, this time the game show is back on TV but on Rai 2. It was supposed to be broadcast before TG2 at 20:30 and is based on The first The leaked rumors will start 60 episodes next fall. Rest assured that alongside Pino Insegno, who is taking on the role, there will also be the wonderful Ainette Stephens, who has played, and should continue to play, the role of the black cat for years.

While there are those who would be happy to see Ainette Stephens in tight overalls and a toned and lean physique, the public doesn’t seem too pleased with Pino Insegno’s massive presence in public service. In particular, someone wonders if the presenter will also moderate all the messages of the Rai networks, while the keyboard lions do not miss an opportunity to insult the helmsman of Il Mercante in Fiera and claim that the only thing he remembers on this show is simply this is black cat.

Rai 2, comments against Pino Insegno and his Mercante in Fiera

“I can’t wait to miss it,” read one harsh comment. For our part, we believe that Pino Insegno is an excellent conductor and show artist who has always given a lot to his programs, from Reazione a Catena to Mercante in Fiera. And you instead? Will you watch the show or do you prefer Marco Liorni and Amadeus on Rai 1?

“If the lawyer swallowed Sergio Moro in the other statements, this did not happen. But it only took one for the current senator to emerge victorious. Also because the focus is now on the future of the chief minister and no longer on the former Lava Jato judge,” says the journalist in an excerpt from the article.

However, the journalist received several messages mocking or contradicting the statements of the article.
