Where is the Titan submersible located? © OceanGate Expeditions via AP

It is not clear exactly where the submersible “Titan” is located.

According to the operator Oceangate Expeditions, the oxygen on board the missing “Titan” submersible should be enough for 96 hours. According to estimates by rescue teams, this window of time may have already closed – however, experts pointed out that such information is just an imprecise value.

Is there still oxygen in the submersible “Titan”?

Time serves only as a guideline, he said. So there could still be air for the five occupants if they managed to save oxygen, for example, by moving little or not at all.

“We don’t know how long they’re really going to last in terms of oxygen levels,” marine researcher Simon Boxall of the University of Southampton told NBC News. All that is known is that the critical point in time is “imminent”. Retired British Rear Admiral Chris Parry told Sky News: “I’m afraid it’s looking too bleak”. Even if the “Titan” was found, it would take a long time to save the boat. The likelihood that the five prisoners will survive is “incredibly small”.

Location of the submersible “Titan” unknown

So far, it is not known where exactly the “Titan” is, nor if the submersible is intact. On board are five men aged between 19 and 77. Several ships are looking in the Atlantic for the missing submersible that was on its way to the wreckage of the “Titanic” at about 3,800 meters deep. Contact has been broken since Sunday morning (local time).

Opera gets a makeover and welcomes the era of AI

Opera gets a makeover and welcomes the era of AI – L’Éclaireur Fnac

The Opera web browser has announced the availability of its brand new artificial intelligence search engine for everyone.

Now natively hosting an AI assistant based on the Open AI GPT model, Opera One intends to gain market share in the great battle of AI assistants. In addition, the company took the opportunity to add a new function and a comprehensive facelift to its search engine on computers.

Aria, reborn in chatbots

After a month of testing, Opera launched its brand new search engine, Opera One. A search engine that picks up on Microsoft’s recent great idea for Bing, which was to add an AI-powered chatbot assistant natively. Opera therefore invites us to welcome Aria, its new built-in assistant based on the in-house Composer AI engine and connecting to OpenAI’s GPT. People with an Opera account can now use this wizard in their web searches to get more results.

But you can also use Aria to generate text and code, or even provide additional information or a translation for a selected section of text in real time. The strength of this Opera-like tool is that there is no need to keep opening the side menu to send a request. The company has actually implemented a command (ctrl + / on Windows and cmd + / on Mac) that brings up a command line in which to formulate its requests.

Better tab management

Aria is still in its infancy, and while the tool offers more or less the same features as the Bing Assistant on Edge, some aren’t there yet, like the ability to choose the tone, format, or length with a single click the text you want to generate. However, Opera hasn’t been content with simply adding an AI assistant. The company also checked the display of tabs in its search engine. Tab islands are a new arrangement of tabs to avoid the appearance of tab invasion while working or researching. These are therefore automatically grouped according to the context of the search.

For example, if a person is planning a trip and researching hotels, planes, and travel destinations, all tabs opened in connection with this are combined into one tab island. A great way to organize your searches by topic and return to previous searches without feeling lost. And it all fits into a redesigned design and a faster, more efficient search engine.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) met his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella this Wednesday (21 June 2023). They spoke about the agreement between Mercosur and the European Union, the rapprochement of universities and commercial exchanges between the two countries. The meeting took place at the Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the Italian President, in Rome.

We will work to bring our universities closer together and expand commercial exchanges between our countries,” he wrote Lula on his Twitter page.

In 2019, an advance agreement was signed between the two economic blocs. In March of this year, the Europeans presented new environmental regulations in an additional letter, known as a “side letter”, and stipulated sanctions in the event that the obligations were not complied with. The countries of the South American bloc consider the measures abusive.

Brazil wants too

Brazil also wants to renegotiate the chapter on state purchases. The Brazilian proposal, tabled during Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) government and signed by former Economy Minister Paulo Guedes’ team, gave Europeans broad access to government purchases in Mercosur. The current Lula government believes that this could harm the industry in the country and wants to revisit the point, but is met with opposition.

How Power360 As it turned out, a meeting of Mercosur negotiators with the European Union’s chief negotiator, Rupert Schlegelmilch, was cancelled. It is scheduled to take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, late next week.

Brazil says Mercosur will only accept proposed new rules if Europe makes concessions on state purchases. However, the Brazilians have not yet finalized a counterproposal.

Earlier, Lula met with former Italian Prime Minister Massimo D’Alema and the General Secretary of the Italian Democratic Party, Elly Schlein. Appointments this Wednesday (June 21) also include meetings with Pope Francis and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The Petista landed in Europe on Tuesday (20 June). Before returning to Brazil, he will travel to Paris. There he will meet French President Emmanuel Macron, with whom he also wants to talk about the MercosurEU agreement. On Tuesday (June 20), Lula met with Professor Domenico de Masi, who is famous for developing the concept of “creative leisure,” which he believes stimulates personal creativity.

“Nice meeting and chat with friend and teacher Domenico de Masi. We met in Curitiba and also when I was in Rome before the 2020 pandemic. We talked about the political situation in Brazil and Europe,” he wrote Lula on his Twitter page.

Fiancee For Rent and The Bright Side not only have

“Fiancee For Rent” and “The Bright Side” not only have Jennifer Lawrence in common: the details are striking! Southern Excellencies

Rented Girlfriend is the new movie starring Jennifer Lawrence. The film has more than one thing in common with “Bright Side”: let’s find out why

‘Girlfriend for rent’ was advertised in an absurd way in the United States, but it has also affected several people in Italy, where it was first launched yesterday. Not to spoil the story too much, this is an irreverent American comedy, far from politically correct and with more or less desirable references to works of the caliber of Risk in Business and American Pie. The protagonist of the film is actress Jennifer Lawrence, who once again delivers a brilliant performance, giving life to a character that is destined to become an icon.

The plot focuses on the events of a young woman whose car is confiscated for not paying various fines. The problem is that she works by car since she is an Uber driver. After being unemployed, she finds among the ads a rather bizarre ad, in which two parents are looking for a girl willing to “wean” their teenage son to prepare him for college and give him greater awareness what it means to live ‘certain things’. Of course, the young person must never realize that it is an ad hoc organization founded by his parents.

The fee for such an operation is a used Buick, which is exactly what Jennifer Lawrence’s character needs, so she decides to take up the challenge. The test will prove more difficult than expected as the boy definitely has no interest in ending up in bed with her because he is obsessed with ecological issues, clumsy, too correct to take even a sip of alcohol, and so forth. We don’t want to reveal how this story will end, but we’ll let you in on a detail that few may have paid attention to.

Girlfriend for rent, did you notice it’s a bad copy of Bright Side? So they look similar

The plot of “Rented Girlfriend” is not among the most original out there. In short, there are undoubtedly comic and over-the-top aspects, but they all focus on the first part of the film. In the second case, once the cards are dealt, the film is in every way similar to another that always stars Jennifer Lawrence: The Bright Side. Directed by David O. Russell, the film portrays a cult that is impossible not to have seen or heard of.

But what do Rented Girlfriend and Bright Side have in common? Aside from the presence of Lawrence in both films, the plot actually seems very similar: both stories focus on two slightly unhappy characters who spend time together, confront each other, argue and eventually find a way to make life better. This detail is striking!

Bill C-18: An ethics teacher goes on a crusade against the web giants – Le Journal de Québec

Quebec author Philippe Gendreau denounces the rise of Facebook and Google’s milk, which refuse to compensate the media for their content, and urges politicians to urgently pass a tough law to make them bow down.

“C-18 is the minimum. If the government is not able to act, then who will?” asks the five-headed monster, who has just appeared on Écosociété editions, according to Philippe Gendreau, in an interview with the Journal, author of GAFAM.

“It’s taking the form these big companies have been planning for some time. “These are carefully considered measures,” says the ethics and media teacher at the Ozias Leduc school in Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

The danger, he said, is that these groups “have lobby entrances.” “It’s strongest in the pocket,” he breathes.

Facebook Milk Rise

A week ago, Facebook angered the government by blocking news sites as the country pushed for the passage of a law that would force them to pay media companies for their content.

“It’s an attack on democracy,” said Minister of Culture Pablo Rodriguez. “This is unacceptable and we will not allow this intimidation to work,” added Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

For Philippe Gendreau, however, there is reason to question “whether trying to intimidate politicians by withholding information from citizens is showing respect for democracy”.

“They don’t respect their customers at all. Intimidation, breach of consent, tax evasion… we are not at the first sign of defaulting companies,” the professor continues.

According to Philippe Gendreau, the GAFAM [Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon et Microsoft] and brokers, addicted to our personal information, have become outright “agents of surveillance capitalism.” [qui] pose a serious threat to democracy.”

democracy in danger

In his essay, Philippe Gendreau meticulously analyzes what gives GAFAM, the “new black gold”, its power: our data.

“Their goal is to increase their profits, not to heal democracy,” he fears, listing the excesses.

“There was manipulation for BREXIT [retrait du Royaume-Uni de l’Union européenne]. There have been manipulations in several elections, including the 2016 US election. We know that the next US election could be affected,” he warns.

He also points the finger at Chinese giant TikTok, which is patiently weaving its web with its powerful algorithms to question the tastes of the younger generation. Chinese web giants BATX (Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent and Xiaomi) should also worry us, according to Philippe Gendreau.

“We give them access to our really deep personality,” he says.

“Political parties are happy to have access to such confidential data. There is an overlap with politics while decisions have to be made,” he concludes.
