Celtics Grizzlies Wizards Trade Notes Instant Response with Smart Porzingis

Celtics Grizzlies Wizards Trade Notes: Instant Response with Smart, Porziņģis on the Move – The Athletic

Hours after a three-team deal fell through and the Washington Wizards took on Kristaps Porziņģis’ player option period, the Boston Celtics finally managed to get their Big Man upgrade … and bid farewell to Marcus Smart.

This trade sees Porziņģis, the 25th pick in Thursday’s draft and a 2024 first-round pick (via Golden State), going to Bost0n; Smart going to the Memphis Grizzlies; and the Wizards added Tyus Jones, Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala and the 35th pick in Thursday’s draft.

Earlier in the day, Porziņģis was thought to be heading to Boston, with Malcolm Brogdon going to the Clippers and Washington receiving Marcus Morris Sr. and the 30th pick in the draft. The deal fell through and it is believed to be about Brogdon’s injury status, as first reported by NBA reporter Marc Stein.

ESPN and The Boston Globe first reported on the details of the revised three-team deal.

Now that the dust has settled (we think), let’s erase the red ink!

Boston Celtics take on Kristaps Porzingis, the 25th pick in 2023 and a first-round pick in 2024

What are the Celtics’ plans for Porziņģis? That was my first thought when I saw this trading news. Is this a short term game Or will we see an expansion? offered, who could lower his salary after this season, but give him security in the long term? The fit of Porziņģis upfront has great potential, but with Porziņģis we often feel that way. He is extremely tall, has a large wingspan, is quite agile, and is exceptionally agile for a nine-foot-tall man.

Check out his numbers after leaving Dallas. In 82 games with the Wizards, Porzingis averaged 22.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 blocks with 49.3/38.2/85.5 shot splits. This corresponds to a hit rate of 62.2 percent. That’s incredibly efficient. He’s turned into a pretty solid rebounder, he can protect quite a bit on the edge, and he’s got a great outside shot.

Integrating that into what the Celtics are doing isn’t difficult. That means Al Horford (37) can step back in the rotation if needed or play alongside Porziņģis if Robert Williams III is unavailable. They could also bring Porziņģis off the bench as a super sixth man alongside Brogdon.

You can direct offense through him in the second unit, or he can play third fiddle alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as an expert pick-and-pop. He can camp in the corner and spread the ground. And defensively, he can be a good defender as long as he’s able to take the physical toll that comes with a fairly tough and active defensive system.

The Celtics have options as long as Porziņģis is healthy and that’s the part that might worry you. Since the cruciate ligament injury that cost him well over 100 games from 2017-19, Porziņģis has missed 95 games in four seasons. That’s a lot of wasted time. On a year-long lease, even at $36 million, that’s a risk to take given the strength of the Celtics.

That they went up 10 spots this draft and got a first-round pick in next year’s draft is pretty ridiculous.

Grade: A

Memphis Grizzlies take over Marcus Smart

With Jones out and the Grizzlies knowing that Ja Morant will miss the first 25 games of next season, they’ve been doing pretty well. Keep in mind that under no circumstances is Dillon Brooks coming back, so the Grizzlies needed some help in the backcourt. Smart is a great upgrade on the Guard position, especially when Morant is back. He can be a dog defensively, but not in a way that ends up hurting the team.

Smart is a solid offensive option capable of pick and rolls. While Morant is away, he can do whatever Memphis wants to do and then easily play alongside him when everything is back to normal. It hurts to give up your first-round pick and a future pick along with Jones, but the Grizzlies have a chance to be a lot more stable once the dust settles. Smart has three years left on his contract, so there’s no risk of losing him anytime soon.

They gave up a lot but this is still a solid trade.

Grade B

The Washington Wizards sign Tyus Jones, Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala for the 35th pick of the 2023 draft

I absolutely hated what the Wizards did when they agreed to a trade with Bradley Beal. I had no problem with the decision to move him, but the return was subpar at best. You have to pray things fail whenever the pick swaps come into play for her and Phoenix. Or maybe they’ll snag a decent player with the second-round picks they got.

This deal is technically better, but still confusing. I liked it better earlier in the day when it looked like Washington might get LA’s 30th pick, but let’s take a closer look.

Jones is an interesting candidate and the Wizards get their 35th pick of the draft. They may not know that they are allowed to ask for first-round picks on trades. Jones is arguably the best backup point guard in basketball, and last month there were some rumors that he might be looking to leave Memphis for a chance to play in the starting XI. He’ll get that chance with the Wizards because he’ll immediately become the top point guard on the roster (let’s assume Chris Paul goes elsewhere). No offense to Monté Morris who is an excellent replacement.

Jones is brilliant at managing a team: lots of assists, low turnovers and he can score a little too. He competes on defense but is undersized. He’ll be a good player for the Wizards while they have him, but he could be a moving asset until the close. His contract runs for another year, then he’s a free agent. I still don’t understand how the Wizards got zero first-round picks (swaps don’t count) by swapping their top two players regardless of contract or no-trade clause situations. If Jones leaves next summer or they don’t trade him, it will be a worse deal for them. It makes no sense for Boston to get the picks the Wizards should have gotten.

1687424787 Gas end of regulated tariff how to get the best

“Gas, end of regulated tariff, how to get the best contract? “. Editorial by Charles SANNAT Insolentiae

My dear impertinents, dear impertinents,

“May I be given the strength to endure what cannot be changed and the courage to change what can be, but also the wisdom to know one from the other.”

That’s what the Stoic philosopher and Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius said almost 2000 years ago. These thoughts for himself and for us have survived through the centuries and are still extremely relevant.

We can lament this together, and from a political point of view I am totally against it, not against some form of liberalization of the energy market in the sense that new energy producers could be allowed to enter the market, but that doesn’t do anything. This has nothing to do with the end of the regulated market, because the French state could well enforce a regulated selling price, as it has done for decades, thus avoiding torture for its people.

But no, it will be imposed on us at the worst moment, namely the war in Ukraine and the scarcity, more or less significant and permanent depending on the moment, deregulation.

A dark date. July 1. The day you need to become your own energy trader.

In less than two weeks, on July 1, 2023, all gas consumers must go to the open market and negotiate an offer there.

We’ll all become our own dealers.

On this issue, as on many others, it is necessary to separate the collective political approach (demonstrations, protests, political struggles, etc., depending on each individual’s beliefs) and the necessary adaptation of each individual as a rational economic actor who wants to protect his interests Interests.

Although these two aspects of the same question must be separated, they are by no means contradictory.

So that you are not assholes, I wrote a special file with the title “These truths hidden from you in the free gas market and how to get the best deal.”

It is available for download in your (new) Readers’ Area by logging in here. For those who want Subscribe here.

In this file we will quickly see that there are some major paradoxes that will be difficult not to fret about collectively, but we will also see the personal strategies we can try to implement to best protect our interests .

I will of course provide an update on prices, the prospects for price changes over the coming months and the risks that we can fully anticipate weighing on the energy market. You will see how to create all the necessary simulations and offers, how to find and choose the best offer, how not to fall into the trap of semantic marketing of so-called “alternative” operators, but also see the price and operational differences between each operator Offers. Fixed or variable, the contract and termination conditions, or how and according to what criteria to choose your gas operator, without forgetting the contract offer that guarantees fixed prices over 4 years, which seems to me the best. In this 33-page file you will find all the details and all the necessary information to enable you to best protect your interests and those of your relatives who use gas.

1,500 euros annual budget! A big effort with a bad contract and explosive additional costs!

The average annual cost of a gas contract is 125 euros per month for a family of four in a 100m2 house. That corresponds to an average note of 1,500 euros per year, but that was before.

Before the war in Ukraine.

Before the end of regulated tariffs.

You probably remember all the small traders who were forced to close the curtain because they couldn’t cope with the changes in energy prices.

This is what awaits each of us now.

At any time.

We will be at the mercy of a gas shortage, an international event, or even geopolitical tensions.

From July 1st, getting the best energy contract with a good network operator is no longer an option, but an obligation for you.

Not doing it or doing it badly puts you at risk of multiplying by 2, 3 or even 8, which was the case at the worst moment of the war in Ukraine, when traders and companies were forced to go through the crisis On in the “free” market, their scores sometimes multiplied tenfold.

According to one family, this means that those who use gas today can theoretically expect their average bill to increase from €125 a month to €1250!

However, a customs protection shield is not planned.

Don’t miss this topic. Those who want to know more and who are not subscribed You can subscribe to the letter and the STRATEGIES files by clicking here. If you get it wrong, it can cost you thousands of dollars to subscribe the letter STRATEGIES is an investment of 98 euros that quickly pays for itself!!

The state will leave you alone in this terrible “free” market.

What you definitely need to understand, and what I’m trying to show you, is that the government wants to end gas, the government being pushed by the European technocrats in Brussels.

Related to this is the end of regulated gas tariffs, the price instability of which will force households and economic operators to switch to other, more legible and predictable energy sources.

The Europaths organize price uncertainty and extreme volatility on the gas market, which are incompatible with the functioning and everyday expectations of all economic actors.

They create the conditions of our disgust and our disgust from the ground up.

It’s very evil, and that’s how our world works. Between outrageous perversity and utter hypocrisy, to hide a form of dictatorship whose name will become increasingly difficult to hide.

In short, in this file you will learn how to subscribe, when to subscribe, how to compare offers and avoid pitfalls so that you can become your own merchant. It should not have happened, but “may you be given the strength to endure what cannot be changed and the courage to change what can be, but also the wisdom to know one from the other.”

You too take part The community of strategists is here.

It’s already too late, but all is not lost.

Prepare yourself!

Missing submarine, here’s the last hope robot: it can dive down to 6000 meters Repubblica TV

France has dispatched a scuba-equipped vessel to assist in the search and rescue operation of the missing submarine, which is diving around the wreck of the Titanic for a tourist expedition. The Atalante ship is managed by the Ifremer research institute, which specializes in underwater research at great depths. The institute uses the Victor 6000 autonomous robot, which is capable of descending to a depth of 6,000 meters, well beyond the 3,800 meters of the wreck site. The robot won’t be able to lift the OceanGate pod, but since it’s equipped with mechanical arms, it can assist in trying to hook it to cables thrown by ships. The Atalante ship should arrive in the search area in the next few hours.

Emmanuel Macron aims for a new global financial pact

Emmanuel Macron aims for a new global financial pact ( )

About forty leaders, including Brazilian Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Colombian Gustavo Petro and Cuban Miguel Díaz-Canel, as well as heads of various international organizations will spend two days discussing how to support the most vulnerable countries in the face of the crisis the double challenge of poverty and climate change at the summit opened by French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris this Thursday (June 22, 2023).

Macron called for “very concrete solutions” to reform development financing now so that affected countries are also confronted with the consequences of climate change. “No country should have to choose between reducing poverty and protecting the planet,” Macron said in his opening speech at the summit for a new global financial pact.

Looking for an up-to-date alternative to Bretton Woods

This two-day event brings together leaders, international institutions and civil society representatives in Paris to try to lay the groundwork for a new development finance system that will enable participating countries to lift themselves out of poverty while addressing the challenges of the climate change.

Macron called for a “public funding shock” and more private funding to meet these challenges, warning that each country must be “sovereign” to find its own solution. The aim of the summit is to review the international financial architecture that emerged with the Bretton Woods Accords in 1944, when the priority was to rebuild Europe to face the challenges of the 21st century, such as climate change, to adjust.

France wants to give “political impetus” to the idea of a global tax on CO2 emissions from maritime trade, which experts say could amount to 20,000 million dollars a year, just days before a major meeting of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The “toolbox” of possible solutions also includes the idea of reusing $100 billion in Special Drawing Rights, the IMF’s reserve currency.

Russia protests possible French presence at BRICS meeting

At the same time, Russia criticized France’s interest in attending the next meeting of the BRICS group in August in South Africa. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said he was an “inappropriate guest” because he had “such a hostile and unacceptable policy towards us” that he insisted on Russia’s international isolation, according to the RIA news agency. “And we do not hide this approach, we told our colleagues in South Africa about it – we hope that our point of view will be fully accepted,” Ryabkov said.

South Africa is considering the legal ramifications of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s possible participation in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa itself) summit. The country is a member of the International Criminal Court and should theoretically arrest him if he enters the country, as demanded by the opposition, since he has an arrest warrant for crimes against humanity by Russian troops in Ukraine. .

Video Game Fans welcome the release of the new Final

Video Game: Fans welcome the release of the new Final Fantasy

The latest installment in the legendary Japanese video game series Final Fantasy was released on Thursday, a moment that fans of the slick graphics and intricate storylines have been eagerly awaiting, and one that could boost PlayStation 5 sales.

Final Fantasy XVI, the latest installment in one of the most well-known video game franchises with a combined total of more than 173 million copies sold according to publisher Square Enix, is only available on the Sony console.

In Tokyo, Naoto Nishimori, 37, made a detour before going to work to get his hands on the new installment and explained that he’s played all the titles in the series.

He said he was delighted when producer Naoki Yoshida – who is also known for Final Fantasy Yoshida – said he got his team to watch.

Yuan, a 21-year-old student who declined to give his last name, said he was drawn to the game’s story, whose gritty atmosphere makes it “particularly appealing.”

South Korean fans also came to the release. In Seoul, 23-year-old Jo Young-min said he expects the game to be a success because “Japanese culture is very popular and because Final Fantasy already has an avid fan base.”

A free day to play

The series, born in 1987, is an institution of the Japanese RPG (role-playing game) and now includes 16 numbered main episodes, but also dozens of other titles in different genres (fighting, racing, rhythm…).

It was originally released on Nintendo’s first console, but ten years later developers switched to the PlayStation, whose CD media offered greater storage capacity than Nintendo’s cartridges, allowing the franchise to attract a new audience.

Known for their constant renewal, Final Fantasy games have evolved over the decades from 2D turn-based combat to real-time confrontations.

Mr. Otani, a 36-year-old Japanese official who declined to give his last name, said he took the day off to play Final Fantasy XVI.

“The graphics are beautiful, the story is moving, so on release day I waited in line to buy it,” he added.

Daniel Ahmad of analyst firm Niko Partners told AFP that the release of this new episode, the demo of which was well received, combined with better PS5 availability on shelves, could help boost sales of Sony consoles.

The Japanese giant’s console was released in November 2020, but its production suffered from semiconductor shortages and supply chain disruptions related to Covid-19.
