TV nostalgia: Celine Bonnier would have liked to play Mary Poppins for children

Céline Bonnier’s television youth was enriched by the humor of two famous Quebec clowns and a red-haired girl who never went unnoticed. But if she could have played a strong character for children, the popular actress would have preferred to target a woman with a magic umbrella…

Céline, which youth programs have shaped you and what do you think are the main reasons for this?

First, Sol and Gobelet because of the poetry of the universe without doors, with the black background opening into nothing and the fact that anything is possible. Also because of Sol’s humor and writing [Marc Favreau, NDLR], Naturally. Then Pippi Longstocking, because her independence, her courage, her strength of character and her supposed originality were in the spotlight.

What are your fondest television memories from your childhood?

Family in front of the TV, all huddled together in the living room. We’re a family of 10, so for me those were magical moments where we were quiet together, focused on the same thing, finding the same things funny, and spending quiet time together.

Would you say that you watched a lot of television when you were young?

The TV was a great way to get us together after dinner, but other than that we were outside quite a bit.

Is there a character that influenced you?

I hope that was the case with Pippi Longstocking. I hope to live a little on his beautiful arrogance and inherited his ability to think differently.

Is there another song from a show, or maybe even several, that sticks in your memory?

Yes, all songs come back to me from time to time; those of Fanfreluche, Picotine and of course Pippi Longstocking: [Cinq et cinq font six / Les pruniers pour moi font des cerises / J’aime que la vie / Vire-virevolte autour de moi / Fifi, la fille fidèle… / C’est Fifi Brindacier (trempé) / Fifi, la fille rebelle / C’est Fifi Brindacier, NDRL]…

Is there a character you would have loved to play for children?

Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins. When I was younger, yes, I would have liked to have been her because she would walk the sidewalks to enter the drawings. My biggest frustration as a kid was not being able to suddenly jump into another universe.

If you had the chance, which television universe would you like to introduce to children?

Universes that would allow you to escape without learning anything other than the importance of inventing what you want to see yourself.

Finally, what do you think of today’s youth television?

Since I don’t have children, I don’t listen to him. But I hope it’s not too educational. (laughs) Rather, I hope that it stimulates the imagination to invent other shapes, other colors, etc.

Also in the new series it will be possible to appreciate the talent of Celine Bonnier witches which will be featured on TVA in the fall. In the meantime, we can see them thanks to the 10 episodes of the drama fragments Offered to Tou.tv Extra subscribers and to A criminal casean original production by Crave.

Addicted to drugs and alcohol he wants to regain control

Addicted to drugs and alcohol, he wants to regain control

Kevin has a heavy history of drug and alcohol addiction that has resulted in considerable debt. He wants to take charge of his life and take care of his two children, but there are many obstacles in his way.

Drug and alcohol addiction sent Kevin into a downward spiral. After running into large debts that he couldn’t pay back, his creditors set collection agencies after him.

“The situation had become unbearable, I kept getting letters and calls from agencies. I decided to take control of my life and end my addiction,” he says.

Challenges at the exit of the tunnel

After a long detox, he finally managed to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But soon he had to face other challenges. Indeed, its years of drift have generated very high levels of debt.

In addition to credit cards and credit lines with various financial institutions that have never been repaid, he also owes amounts to the tax office and has unpaid telecommunications bills. He also owes thousands of dollars to the company that insures his vehicle.

license suspended

The total debt is $52,500. A literally insurmountable amount given his earned income of $2,850, in addition to family allowances for his two children in joint custody totaling $3,800 a month.

“His monthly expenses were $3,575, so it would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to pay it all off,” said Karine Lavigne, Raymond Chabot’s financial recovery and bankruptcy advisor.

Worse, Kevin had his driver’s license suspended by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) at the request of his insurance company because of the more than $7,200 he owes them.

Building a more stable life

Kevin has two options to recover and get out of his bankruptcy situation: bankruptcy or consumer filing.

“He preferred to avoid the first because he had gone broke a few years ago. A second bankruptcy has a significant impact on the credit report, and will do so for a very long time,” says Karine Lavigne.

That’s why he preferred the consumer proposal. This consists in proposing to the creditors an amount lower than the amount due to them, to be paid over a maximum period of 60 months. The negative effects on the Schufa are less harmful than those of bankruptcy.

“In addition, since his income was expected to increase in the coming months due to a job change, in the event of bankruptcy, the monthly payments to be made would have also increased. This is not the case with an application,” adds the restructuring consultant.

The creditors accepted his offer, which also took into account a possible improvement in his income during the repayment period. Kevin is thus freed from all his debts and can build a more stable existence to take care of himself and his children.

Napoli touched fame in Italy after 33 years and fans made Naples an impressive party. However, according to reports from the European country, the enthusiasm of fans of the new Serie A champions got out of control in some areas of the city. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the official bulletin ASL Napoli 1, issued after last Thursday night’s celebrations, reported 203 injured from various causes, including one due to drug use.

The well-known Italian newspaper reports that citizens were affected for various reasons: being struck by bladed weapons or firecrackers, falls, anxiety attacks, smoke inhalation and cocaine overdoses. At Frattamaggiore hospital, a 20-year-old girl was hospitalized with head trauma and a brain hemorrhage after being run over.

The Prefect of Naples, Claudio Palomba, assured that he had taken measures to prevent the number of victims from increasing. “The security plan designed to prevent the celebrations from escalating has been maintained and controls will continue next Sunday when Napoli return to the pitch against Fiorentina,” he explained.

Pro-Kremlin writer injured in car blast in Russia – The Associated Press

TALLINN, Estonia (AP) – The car of a prominent pro-Kremlin writer exploded in Russia on Saturday, injuring him and killing his driver, Russia’s state news agency Tass reported, citing emergency and law enforcement officials.

The car incident of Zakhar Prilepin, a well-known nationalist writer and ardent supporter of what the Kremlin calls a “military special operation” in Ukraine, took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region, some 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of Moscow.

It is the third blast involving prominent pro-Kremlin figures since the start of the war in Ukraine.

In August 2022, a car bomb attack on the outskirts of Moscow killed Daria Dugina, the daughter of an influential Russian political theorist often referred to as “Putin’s brain”. Authorities claimed that Ukraine was behind the blast.

Last month, popular military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky was killed in an explosion at a cafe in St. Petersburg. Officials again blamed Ukrainian intelligence agencies.

Niznhy Novgorod regional governor Gleb Nikitin said Prilepin suffered minor fractures and is receiving medical attention.

Russian news agency RBC, citing unnamed sources, reported that Prilepin was traveling back to Moscow from the partially occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine on Saturday, stopping in the Nizhny Novgorod region for a meal.

Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk said a suspect had been arrested. Russian news reports identified him as a native of Ukraine who had previously been convicted of robbery.

Prilepin became a supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2014 after Putin illegally annexed the Crimean peninsula. He was involved in the conflict in eastern Ukraine alongside the Russian-backed separatists. Last year he was sanctioned by the European Union for his support of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In 2020 he founded a political party, For the Truth, which according to Russian media reports was backed by the Kremlin. A year later, Prilepin’s party merged with the nationalist Fair Russia party, which has seats in parliament.

As co-chair of the newly formed party, Prilepin won but relinquished a seat in the State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, in the 2021 election.

Party leader Sergei Mironov called Saturday’s incident “an act of terrorism” and blamed Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova echoed Mironov’s view in a post on messaging app Telegram, adding that responsibility also rests with the US and NATO.

“Washington and NATO have nurtured another international terrorist cell – the Kiev regime,” Zakharova wrote. “Direct responsibility of the US and UK. We pray for Zakhar.”

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, former President Dmitry Medvedev, in a telegram to Prilepin, blamed “Nazi extremists”.

Ukrainian officials have not directly commented on the allegations. However, Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podolyak appeared to point the finger at the Kremlin in a tweet on Saturday, saying that “in order to prolong the agony of Putin’s clan and maintain the illusion of ‘total control’, the Russian repressive machinery picking up pace and catching up with everyone,” including supporters of the Ukraine war.

The Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package proves itself on

The Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package proves itself on the first 200 mph drive – TESLARATI

The Tesla Model S Plaid, equipped with the all-new Track Package, took to the track to prove itself in a video of the first 200 mph drive.

As if the Tesla Model S Plaid wasn’t “ridiculous” enough, America’s favorite EV brand took it to the next level earlier this week with the launch of the “Track Package.” Along with a set of track-ready tyres, big carbon ceramic brakes and forged aluminum wheels, it also comes with a suite of software upgrades, most notably unlocking the super sedan’s 200mph top speed. To test this upcoming performance kit, Top Gear took the Model S Plaid with the Track Pack on a first drive to put it through its paces.

The Top Gear segment was released on YouTube yesterday and has already garnered hundreds of thousands of views. During its tests, the well-known TV series circled the Model S Plaid on the Circuit Paul Richard in France.

The upcoming Tesla Track Package, which was recently added to the Tesla Store website, will go on sale next month but unfortunately comes at a rather high price point, starting at $15,000. The kit can either be installed in all-new Model S Plaid vehicles or retrofitted for Plaids model year 2021 and later. It should be noted that customers can also choose to buy parts of the complete kit, such as: B. the carbon ceramic brake kit or the “Zero-G” wheel and tire kit.

The new Track Package tackles some of the biggest concerns track-day enthusiasts have been discussing since the Plaid sedan’s launch. Due to the relatively high weight of the e-car, it has problems, especially when cornering. Despite its incredible power, it is not always able to get it to the ground due to this handling problem.

Curiously, the upcoming performance kit doesn’t include any physical upgrades to the vehicle’s suspension that could dramatically improve the Model S’ track potential. Luckily, third-party offerings are available for those building a full-fat race car.

Looking ahead, with Tesla finally rolling out a slew of updates to its most popular models, including the Model 3 “Project Highland” and Model Y “Project Juniper,” an upgrade to the Model S could be right around the corner. And while the vehicle is already a potent performance vehicle, many are excited to see what Tesla’s craziest engineers will come up with for the next generation.

The beloved Mississippi father – who rose to fame on TikTok by showing his 370,000 followers life with his three children – stunned loved ones when he died on April 28 at the age of 46.

He is said to be struggling privately with financial and emotional struggles. Moudy’s wife, Jennifer, told TMZ this week she was unaware of any problems with the house.

Records from Rankin County show that a construction company won the April 26 auction for Moudy’s home with a bid of $309,000 after it went into foreclosure.

The Post has reached out to Jennifer Moudy and county officials for comment.

His wife, Jennifer, told TMZ that he never wanted to burden his family. bbmoudy/Facebook Bobby rose to TikTok stardom as a loving father who made funny videos to “embarrass” his daughter, according to his bio.bbmoudy/Facebook

Friends and family members hope the community will help Bobby’s widow and children, Kaytlin, Max, and Charleigh.

Jennifer told TMZ that Kaytlin, her eldest daughter, will still be attending college in the fall.

A GoFundMe page created by a family friend has raised more than $70,000 as of Saturday afternoon — just $5,000 short of the target.

“Bobby was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. On April 28, he became a tragic suicide victim,” the donation page reads.

“Bobby was full of life and laughter but also under financial pressure. His wife Jennifer and their three children are in an emotional and financial crisis as he has been their rock.”

“On April 28th, my best friend got a chance to see our Heavenly Father,” Kaytlin wrote on TikTok.

“He was the most amazing father, brother, uncle and friend. He had such an impact not only on his family but also on those around him. He was and still is loved by so many.”

“He will be remembered forever,” the post continued, which included numerous photos of Bobby with his family. “I hope you give Louie a big hug for us. We’re counting down the days until we meet again.”

Portal May 6, 2023 12:41 PM ET2 Minute Read

The Navy christened the USS Cooperstown Saturday and paid tribute to all military veterans — including the 70 members of the Baseball Hall of Fame who gave up their baseball careers to serve in the military.

The ceremony will take place in New York City, where players like Ted Williams and Bob Feller will no doubt be remembered. Williams flew 37 combat missions in World War II and Korea, and Feller missed four seasons to serve in the Army and enlisted after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941.

USS Cooperstown joins the active fleet of Freedom variant littoral ships. The Department of Defense describes LCS ships as “fast, optimally crewed, mission-tailored surface combatants operating in coastal and open ocean environments.”

Johnny Bench and Joe Torre represented their fellow Hall of Famers at the ceremony.

“I can’t tell you what an honor it will be to represent the Hall of Fame,” Bench told USA Today ahead of the event. “It’s going to be an amazing, amazing thing. You look at guys like Ted Williams and Bob Feller and Jerry Coleman who gave up all these years of their careers and their lives to come forward and fight for our freedom.”

Bench’s father served in the military for eight years.

The list of baseball players who served on active duty for the United States reads like a who’s who of baseball. Among them are Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Tris Speaker and George Sisler who fought in World War I. During World War II, Williams and Feller were supported by a roster that included Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Larry Doby, Stan Musial, and Jackie Robinson.

Ernie Banks and Willie Mays are among those who served in Korea.

Staterooms on the 351-foot ship are named after Hall of Famers and have a replica of their Cooperstown plaques on their doors.

The motto of the USS Cooperstown is “America’s Away Team”.

The nearest port is Mayport, Florida.

Iran Iranian Swedish dissident executed after being sentenced to death

Iran: Iranian Swedish dissident executed after being sentenced to death "terrorism"

Iran on Saturday, May 6 executed Iranian-Swedish dissident Habib Chaab, who was sentenced to death for “terrorism,” according to the Iranian judiciary, who have accused him of being the leader of an Arab separatist group in the west of the country. The court upheld his death sentence on March 12.

“The death sentence against Habib Chaab (…), leader of the terrorist group Harakat al-Nidal, was carried out this morning,” the judiciary agency Mizan Online said on Saturday. Executions in Iran are usually carried out by hanging at dawn.

Sweden, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, condemned the execution. “The death penalty is an inhuman and irreversible punishment and Sweden, like the rest of the EU, condemns its use in all circumstances,” Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom said on Twitter.

According to human rights organizations, which put the number of executions at 582 in 2022, Iran is the country with the highest number of executions after China.

Disappear in Istanbul

Around 50-year-old Habib Chaab, also known as Habib Asyud, is portrayed by the Iranian authorities as the leader of the group Harakat al-Nidal or ASMLA (Arab Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz), which describes this movement as a “terrorist”.

He went missing in October 2020 after going to Istanbul before reappearing a month later in prison in Iran.

In December 2020, Turkish authorities announced the arrest of 11 people suspected of kidnapping him in Istanbul before taking him to Van on the Iranian border and handing him over to authorities in Tehran.

Iranian television had broadcast a video of Habib Chaab in November 2020, in which he specifically accused himself of a deadly attack aimed at a military parade in September 2018 in Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan province (south-west of the country). , and to work for the Saudi intelligence services.

The distribution of such videos is common in Iran and has been condemned by human rights defenders, who accuse the authorities of obtaining them through torture.

The population of the oil-rich province of Khuzestan has a large Arab minority who lament being abandoned by the authorities. At the end of 2019, Khuzestan was one of the focal points of a wave of protests that were violently suppressed.

Last March, the judiciary sentenced to death six men accused of being members of the ASMLA and accusing them of “following the orders of their European leaders like (…) Habib Chaab”.

After the dissident’s arrest, Sweden had taken steps to offer him consular assistance, but to no avail as Iran does not recognize dual citizenship.

Habib Chaab “was a resident of Sweden for many years and benefited from the facilities and resources of that country’s government and security apparatus,” Mizan told Online in March.

Other Europeans convicted

In January, Tehran sparked a wave of international outrage when it executed a former defense official, Iranian-British Alireza Akbari, who had been convicted of espionage.

In February, Germany expelled two diplomats stationed in Berlin to protest the death sentence on Iranian-German dissident Jamshid Sharmahd, which was upheld in April. He is accused of taking part in an attack on a mosque in Shiraz, southern Iran, in April 2008 that killed 14 people.

At least 16 Western passport holders, including six French nationals, are being held in Iran, most of them with dual nationality.

Among them is Iranian academic Ahmadreza Djalali, a Swedish resident who was arrested during a visit to Iran in April 2016 and sentenced to death in 2017 for spying for Israel. During his detention he received Swedish citizenship. According to his family, he is still on death row.

Iranian-Swedish relations are also strained by the case of Hamid Noury, a former Iranian prison official who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first instance in Sweden for his role in the 1988 mass executions of prisoners ordered by Tehran.

His trial has angered Tehran, which regularly denounces “political” prosecutions and “baseless and fabricated allegations against Iran.”
