In a recent tweet, Tesla asked his followers, “What should Tesla improve? “. Responses were swift, ranging from legitimate complaints to humorous requests. As of this writing, Tesla’s tweet has garnered 15,000 replies.

What should Tesla improve?

Let us know in the comments below

—Tesla (@Tesla) May 5, 2023

A few months ago we wrote an article called “The 9 real reasons not to buy a Tesla”. The purpose of this article was not to discredit Tesla but to educate potential buyers. As you will see, most of the issues raised are already known. Still, it always makes sense to bring them out into the open and discuss them within the Tesla community. Here are some of the most common concerns Tesla users have.

FSD is everywhere

The desire to transfer the Full Self-Drive (FSD) option is becoming increasingly urgent among Tesla vehicle owners. This feature, which promises fully autonomous driving, is very expensive and users want to be able to transfer it from one car to another when switching cars.

In France, the FSD option costs 7,500 euros while it’s not even available yet. In the United States, where the beta version is being tested, the price is $15,000. One user quipped, comparing the FSD option to a luxury jacket, “We’d love to wear it on all our Tesla cars.” Many Canadians and Europeans complain that they can’t use it.

1683375991 401 When Tesla asks its fans how to improve Tesla hereThe “world” as seen by Tesla’s FSD // Source: Romain Heuillard for Frandroid

Currently, the FSD option is tied to the car itself and not to the user’s account. This means that an owner who decides to sell their Tesla and buy a new one will have to buy back the FSD option for their new vehicle. Given the high cost of this option, this causes understandable frustration.

Additionally, users point out that porting paid options between devices is already common practice in other areas, particularly software and online subscriptions. They therefore believe that it would make sense for Tesla to follow this trend in order to improve its customers’ experience.

Spare parts, car park, wipers, delivery experience…

Tesla vehicle owners are increasingly concerned about the availability of replacement parts to repair their cars. Some have been waiting for several months to receive the necessary documents.

Autopark and windshield wipers have been criticized for malfunctioning. One user even explained, not without humor, that his car park was so moody that he wondered if his car was trying to avoid slots. As for the wipers, they seem to have a lot of misfires.

The delivery experience was also mentioned several times, especially at the end of the quarter when Tesla is delivering a large number of vehicles in a short amount of time, causing frustrations and problems. In general, the shopping experience, from ordering to delivery, is often criticized by owners.

There are also complaints about the finish and build quality of cars produced at the Gigafactory in Fremont, USA. Although there have been improvements, the owners believe there is still a long way to go to reach an optimal level of quality.

Happiness levels will likely vary depending on which Gigafactory is making Tesla vehicles. In France there are Model 3 and Y from Shanghai, Model Y from Berlin and Model S and X from the USA. It can therefore be difficult to navigate and compare customer experiences based on their vehicle’s origin.

Tesla Vision, Voice Control, Roadster 2…

The voice control of Tesla vehicles is considered to be perfectable and a far cry from what smartphone voice assistants offer. Users want improvements in this area to make using their car easier.

Tesla Vision, the system of cameras and sensors for assisted driving, has been criticized for its lack of efficiency, especially by recent buyers who do not have all the ultrasonic sensors. Owners want a 360-degree view for a better driving experience.

Tesla Roadster Frandroid 2020

The production of the Roadster 2 is eagerly awaited. Users express their desire to see this electric supercar on the streets. It’s a 100% electric sports car that promises 1,000 kilometers of autonomy, 0 to 100 km/h in 1.1 seconds and a top speed of over 400 km/h. Originally planned for 2020, the sports car has been postponed several times.

Fans have also frequently mentioned that Elon Musk could improve. In fact, Tesla’s CEO’s stance hasn’t always been unanimous, especially since the Twitter acquisition.

Tesla owners don’t just criticize

Tesla owners not only criticize, they also have brilliant ideas to improve their vehicles. For example, when confronted with a crowd of cars waiting at the superchargers, they suggest adding a digital queue to prevent the situation from turning into an electric Star Wars remake.

Other suggestions include using the car’s 4G data connection as a hotspot to share the connection with other devices. Finally, why not use this resource to watch kitty videos while you patiently wait your turn on the Supercharger?

1683375999 930 When Tesla asks its fans how to improve Tesla hereThe frunk in front // Source: Unplash

Eventually, owners would like to see a hands-free installation system to automatically open the frunk (the front trunk). Some are even wondering if Tesla could offer an option for their car to make them coffee while they load their luggage into the frunk. There are now kits to turn the frunk into an automatic opener.

Another interesting idea would be to allow the driver to set the desired state of charge upon arrival at the destination. The trip planner would then take this parameter into account when planning routes and charging stops. So if a driver wanted to arrive at their destination with an 80% charged battery, they could simply enter that information and the trip planner would take care of the rest. This feature could be particularly useful on long journeys where drivers want to arrive at their destination with a certain amount of remaining range to avoid being caught off guard in the event of an unforeseen need for action.

Given this feedback and suggestions from its users, Tesla has an opportunity to continue to innovate and improve its customers’ experience. It’s clear that the American manufacturer is listening to its community, which shows its commitment to open communication and meeting the needs of its customers.

Tesla has already demonstrated its ability to deliver significant improvements through over-the-air software updates that enhance existing features and add new ones without having to visit a service center. These updates are a big win for the brand and could be used to address concerns from owners.

Suggestions from Tesla owners could also inspire new features and innovations, such as: B. digital queues for superchargers or using the vehicle’s 4G data connection as a hotspot. By incorporating these ideas into its future models, Tesla could continue to stand out as a leader in the electric vehicle sector.

Would you like to join a community of enthusiasts? Our discord welcomes you, it’s a place of mutual help and passion for technology.

Diana Vickers SLACKED for a “disrespectful” video mocking Queen Camilla and Princess Diana

Diana Vickers was slammed after she posted an “disrespectful” video of what appeared to be hours before Saturday’s coronation, mocking Queen Camilla and Princess Diana.

The 31-year-old X Factor star put on a crown as she and fellow podcast member Chiara Hunter sang about the royals in bad taste.

They cruelly claimed that the new queen “played the long game” to seize the throne after her secret love affair with the king.

The singer also scrawled the words “waste of time” on a picture of the late princess in her iconic revenge dress.

Her self-penned song began, “Ladies, this is a lesson for all the sidekicks out there, stay focused.”

Outraged followers raced to the comments section to blast the singer with one, who even called the post “nasty.”

One wrote: “Um yeah but the woman you call the ‘loser’ died horribly in a car crash so wtf is that.”

A second said: “Don’t see why that’s funny… I find it disrespectful”.

With someone who replies, “Agreed. Utterly disrespectful to Princess Diana. Not funny’.

Another added: “This is incredibly distasteful” and a third added “truly disgusting”.

Meanwhile, someone else slammed the star, saying, “The lengths you’re willing to go for a viral moment.”

While another said: “I find it nasty” and “You’re a nasty sad little girl I feel sorry for you.”

Absolutely Fabulous star and OBE Dame Joanna Lumley, 76, has also received her invitation to be a guest of Charles and Camilla.

David and Victoria Beckham – the former met the late Queen on multiple occasions – are also said to be on the list but are yet to be confirmed.

She said it would also show respect for the loss of the royal family and the nation, she said.

Prince Louis, the youngest of William and Kate Middleton, stole the limelight just before arriving at Westminster Abbey

05/06/2023 07:55, updated 05/06/2023 07:55

Prince Louis, aged 5, is considered one of the most “impish” children in royalty and usually stars in adventures and cute moments that don’t go unnoticed by the cameras. This Saturday (6/5) the youngest of William and Kate Middleton returned to steal the scene just before he arrived at Westminster Abbey in London to crown his paternal grandfather King Charles III.

Still in the car near the church entrance, Louis waved to his subjects for a few minutes. Photographers soon captured the little prince’s gesture. Until earlier in the week, the boy’s presence was unknown as he stole the limelight during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebration in June last year.

During the jubilee, held to celebrate the late Queen Elizabeth’s 70year reign, Louis pulled faces and pranked many to the chagrin of his parents, who tried to contain him, but to no avail.

The child covered the mother’s mouth, stuck out his tongue and pointed his finger to say “no”.

Confirmation that Louis would attend the coronation came earlier this week. The boy attended rehearsals at Westminster Abbey and his mother Kate Middleton revealed more details. During a visit to the London district of Soho this Thursday (May 4th), the Princess of Wales spoke to subjects who were staying near the Dog & Duck pub.

As the Princess of Wales greeted the audience, a woman in the audience asked, “Do you think Louis will behave?” She replied, “Yes, I hope so… You never know with children”. In the interview, the Princess of Wales commented on George’s role in the coronation: “Actually, it is him [animado]. After a few rehearsals I think everyone is a bit more relaxed.”

Dozens of arrests before Charles III’s coronation, including six anti-monarchy activists

Police had warned they were trying to block King Charles III’s coronation.

Police arrested “six of our organizers and confiscated hundreds of signs” with the slogan “Not my King,” told AFP a spokesman for the group Republic, where hundreds of supporters had gathered in Trafalgar Square early Saturday morning . on the way of the procession.

Republic President Graham Smith was among those arrested, the group said.

“Free Graham Smith,” shouted the demonstrators on site, noted an AFP journalist.

AFP

“That’s exactly why we’re here today. Because the monarchy represents everything that’s wrong with Britain: privilege, inequality and the lack of democracy,” Martin Weegman, one of the anti-monarchy protesters, told AFP.

Around a hundred activists holding signs reading “Citizens not Subjects” or “Abolish the Monarchy” were answered by half-amused, half-stunned defenders of the royal family with a “God save the King”.

AFP

Environmental group Just Stop Oil also said 19 of its activists had been arrested near the route planned for the procession.

The group had planned to demonstrate against the country’s hydrocarbon exploitation at the time of the coronation.

AFP

Authorities are “suppressing our legitimate right to demonstrate,” but “we will continue to do whatever it takes, without violence, to get out of oil and gas,” the group said in a statement shared with AFP.

London Police have confirmed seven arrests of people “suspected of various offences, including public disorder and conspiracy to disturb public order near the Coronation”.

AFP

The arrests come after a senior police official, Christian Bunt, warned on Friday that protests disrupting the coronation would be treated with “a lower level of tolerance”.

The NGO Human Rights Watch condemned these arrests. “Reports of people being arrested for peacefully protesting the coronation are incredibly disturbing. You would expect something like that in Moscow, not London,” the organization’s UK head, Yasmine Ahmed, said in a statement.

AFP

The republican movement, silent under the reign of Elizabeth II, who died last September, intends to compensate for Charles III’s lesser popularity. use to make themselves heard.

According to a recent YouGov poll, the majority of Britons (58%) still support keeping the monarchy, but this sentiment is declining among young people. Only 32% of 18-24 year olds are in favour, compared to 38% who want an elected head of state (and 30% have no opinion).

Fight against homelessness | “It can’t go on like this”

Advocacy groups are calling for a review of ways to tackle homelessness

Posted 1:54pm Updated 5:00am

share

At a time when Québec’s homelessness is on the rise, advocacy groups are concerned that citizens are “tribalizing” the phenomenon. Their conclusion is clear: the previous procedures for emergency shelters are no longer sufficient.

Meeting in person for the first time at a symposium Thursday and Friday at McGill University, members of the Quebec Collective for the Prevention of Homelessness (CQPI) wanted to lay the groundwork for this “new discussion.”

One of the collective’s co-founders, President of the Old Brewery Mission, James Hughes, testifies to the changes he has witnessed in recent years.

PHOTO DOMINICK GRAVEL, THE PRESS

James Hughes, President of the Old Brewery Mission and co-founder of the Quebec Collective for the Prevention of Homelessness

His facility, which has about 300 beds for homeless people, is usually full, like several other shelters of its kind in Montreal that operate with a 1% to 2% vacancy rate.

James Hughes is categorical: “It can’t go on like this. Like others, he is concerned that homelessness is becoming more common in public spaces.

“It Doesn’t Work”

“People used to see homeless people when they came downtown. But now it’s going back to their homes, to their neighborhoods,” he says. James Hughes names Ahuntsic, Montreal-North or Hochelaga-Maisonneuve as districts where homelessness is becoming increasingly visible.

Cities in the regions are also affected by the phenomenon, such as Gatineau, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Jérôme or Drummondville, as La Presse reported last December.

“Obviously it’s not working. [Et ce, alors] that the number of places in emergency shelters is increasing in Montreal,” confirms Eric Latimer, a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University and co-founder of the CQPI.

“Obviously what we’re doing is creating homelessness rather than reducing it,” he decides coolly.

Additionally, as James Hughes notes, these people are “mortgaged” more than before as they struggle with substance use or mental health issues. At the Old Brewery Mission, first responders treat opioid overdose cases at least twice a week, which wasn’t the case five years ago, he says.

It’s not extraordinary anymore, it’s normalized. If this continues, we risk accepting the unacceptable.

James Hughes, President of the Old Brewery Mission

An opinion shared by Eric Latimer. “The danger is trivializing these things,” he says, citing the United States as a counterexample.

Possible solutions?

Local organizations and government must now focus on tackling the root causes of homelessness, not its effects, a very broad goal, James Hughes acknowledges.

To do this, the CQPI intends to draw inspiration from initiatives being undertaken internationally, such as in Wales and the UK, where public authorities have a legal obligation to find housing for people at risk of being in a situation of homelessness, such as in a explains a Cardiff University professor who crossed the ocean for the occasion.

“We are thinking in particular of a framework law [au Québec]. It could be to include the right to housing in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms,” James Hughes stresses the importance of this issue in the fight against homelessness.

Eric Latimer also commends the “Housing First” approach, which is to get people affected by homelessness quickly into stable, long-term shelter with support.

“There would be the potential to fund many more places there,” he says, pointing to the very high cost of the current approach while the university’s health and social center integrates the Centre-Sud-de-l’Île -en- Montréal pays $35,000 per year for each shelter place.

Eric Latimer also stresses the importance of supporting different categories of destitute people, who are often left alone when leaving the facilities where they are treated, including ex-prisoners or patients in psychiatric hospitals, before not ending up the street.

New numbers next fall

As a result of the work of thousands of volunteers, the results of a large census of homeless people conducted last October should provide a better picture of the population, but will not be released until the fall. The last exercise of this kind, the results of which were published in autumn 2019, made it possible to count 3,149 homeless people on the streets of Montreal. Even before the pandemic, the metropolis was seeing an 8-12% increase in the number of homeless people compared to the previous exercise in 2015, and that’s without counting people living in a so-called homeless situation.

Hunger threatens 46 million people in Guatemala

According to the NGO Oxfam, around 4.6 million people in Guatemala face food insecurity, and their situation is also threatened by the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, which in recent years has led to losses in corn and bean crops essential to the The country’s livelihoods are essential to vulnerable families. The official climate outlook indicates a “significantly high probability” that El Niño could form between May and July. The phenomenon is characterized by extreme conditions: high temperatures and drought or floods that mainly affect the Dry Corridor, a semi-arid region of Central America more prone to drought or floods depending on the behavior of rainfall. So far, the state weather service has forecast a “normal” rainy season.

However, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) believes that the mere presence of El Niño poses a threat to agriculture, regardless of its intensity. Weak phenomena have caused significant losses in agriculture. In 2018, it caused prolonged heat waves and no rain for up to 40 days, resulting in a $44 million loss in corn production, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

“Climatic conditions are rather an additional aggravating factor for inequality, exclusion and the lack of productive economic policies to promote the development of people living in poverty, mainly those living in rural areas,” claims Rafael University researcher Landívar Raúl Maas.

Rural areas are reporting an increase in cases of acute malnutrition, and on April 23, health officials confirmed the deaths of six children under the age of two as a result of nutritional deficiencies, two of whom had clinical signs of kwashiorkor. In 2022, according to official figures, 18 children under the age of five died from acute malnutrition.

By mid-April, there was an increase of 2,287 (44%) cases of acute malnutrition year-on-year, according to reports from the Ministry of Health’s National Food and Nutrition Safety Information System (Siinsan). Cases of malnutrition are increasing, especially in areas that have reported damage from El Niño.

“Populations that are already in a situation of precarious food insecurity and need the support of the state and other actors to access basic foodstuffs will be affected by the El Niño phenomenon,” says Iván Aguilar of Oxfam Central America. The Department of Agriculture has programs for farm insurance, grants and improved seeds with a budget of nearly $20 million this year.

Subscribe to EL PAÍS to follow all the news and read without limits.

subscribe to

The magnitude and territorial scope of El Niño’s impacts are unknown, but when lessons from other years are taken into account, we know that the dry corridor will be one of the regions with the greatest complications, he adds. The Dry Corridor covers 10% of the entire territory of Guatemala, 80% of its inhabitants live in poverty and 30% in extreme poverty. This region, like other parts of the country, lacks water supplies and access to health and education services is limited, and in many cases they are provided by humanitarian agencies.

Antigua Al Rescate (AAR) is one of the organizations supporting arid corridor families living in food insecurity. Its mobile nutrition restoration program benefits approximately 278 families each month, each with one to three underweight children. “We are in the worst time of the year, very hot and facing a drought or landslide scenario due to the rains,” warns AAR’s Sofía Letona.

Politicians and hunger

The political campaign, heading into the June 25 general election, is bringing some relief to some communities in poverty. Some parties give away food, supplies, or money that provide relief to families who, for example, can’t raise $30 to buy two cans of powdered milk that will feed a baby for a month, Letona says. In its report this week, the Guatemalan Election Observation Mission reported on two cases of food deliveries that were part of election campaign activities related to community social programs in which public officials participated.

Aguilar anticipates the greatest impacts will be seen in late 2023 and into next year, when reserves of staple grains are depleted and low yields or crop losses are experienced. The loss of corn and beans puts rural families at risk, especially considering the price of corn has doubled in the last five years.
