EMILY PRESCOTT: Extreme trainspotting for Ewan McGregor as he lies on train tracks with his daughter Clara in a promotional shot for his next film

Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor admitted splitting from his first wife Eve over his affair with actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead was something of a train wreck.

So explosive was the rift with Eve and her daughters, including Clara, who is now an actress, you may get the wrong idea from Clara’s photo of her dad about to get the chop.

But I’m happy to say the two have reconciled and the image is actually a behind-the-scenes shot of their film You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder, in which Ewan, 51, and Clara, 27, play an estranged father and daughter.

A runway dress with royal roots

Eco-designers Vin + Omi have more reason than most to celebrate King Charles’ accession to the throne.

The duo already make clothing from plants from their Highgrove estate and will soon have plenty of additional raw material to work with as Charles will also open the gardens of Sandringham and Windsor to them. Vin + Omi hope this could convince other big landowners to follow suit.

Vin + Omi featured this biodegradable dress, left, made from tree bark and nettles by Highgrove as they opened London Fashion Week with a show at the One Hundred Shoreditch Hotel.

Omi says, “Your ego really shuts down when you start talking to King Charles about the environment because this guy knows so much.”

Unfortunately, the public cannot buy the royal dresses – they are one-of-a-kind pieces on display at the V&A.

Almost 200 years since their ancestor Arthur Wellesley, 1.

Though they look dangerously dizzying, the shoes, modeled by a pal, are right, cleverly designed, Eleanor assures me, with a platform to elongate the leg without the discomfort of traditional stilettos.

The 27-year-old tells me, “I’ve been testing them extensively over the last two years to make sure they’re super comfortable and easy to wear.”

It’s definitely in the genes… or in this case, in the shoes.

José Loreto takes advantage of the festive days of Carnival outside of the soap opera’s recording and talks about a very topical issue in his life, his breakup with former BBB and presenter Rafa Kalimann, from whom he broke up a few years ago.

Discussing their old romance, which was shortlived but intense, the actor wasn’t hesitant when saying if there’s still love for the brunette. “I can say, for me and for her, that it was the right love at the wrong time,” he began.

When he says the ending wasn’t due to a lack of passion or disagreements, the actor says the two’s work stress affected the relationship. I work hard,” he said in one of the excerpts.

Finally, he also commented on the 19:00 soap opera in which he plays Lui Lorenzo in the plot of “Vai na Fé”, which is a hit with audiences. José Loreto also left open the possibility of taking on a new job in the coming months.

The final episode of the series L’Échappée will be broadcast here – Showbizz.net

At the end of this seventh season of the soap opera L’Échappée, we have to say goodbye to the many residents of Sainte-Alice-de-Rimouski and their (too) many tumults.

The grand finale of the series will air on TVA on March 27th. So there are only six episodes left to delve into.

Now written by Mylène Chollet, this series isn’t short of stories, so much so that we wonder how the author will manage to wrap it all up in a finale that will delight many fans.

Between the personal dramas of multiple characters, the criminal investigations, and the happiness of others, there’s plenty to do.

In the next episode, Jules is rocked by a visit from Lieutenant Cadet, who has news about Bill Beaudry. Clément’s health will deteriorate as Jade begins to have too much on her shoulders. Claude will threaten Sergeant Déry.

By the way, the filming just finished. Several actors have spoken about it on social media, including Charlotte Aubin, who has played Jade Francoeur since the beginning.

The series L’Échappée airs Mondays at 8pm on TVA.

Note that here we give you the date of the season 1 finale of the Indéfendable newspaper. Fortunately, if this happens, the series will be renewed for a second season!

Significant Improvements in Snow Removal in Quebec City

Significant Improvements in Snow Removal in Quebec City

After a strenuous snow clearing last weekend, the city of Quebec fared better as it responded to about eight inches of snowfall on Friday.

The state capital’s snow clearance guidelines state that no snow may be loaded on Fridays and Saturdays.

In particular, this meant that visitors to Carnaval de Québec, or even spectators at last weekend’s Peewee tournament, experienced a difficult homecoming, for which the city issued a special apology.

This time, snow clearing began on Friday evening, to the delight of local residents.

People interviewed by TVA Nouvelles indicated that they were generally satisfied with this recent snow removal.

“It’s a lot better than last week,” said a passerby. It’s clear and you can walk, so it’s very good.

However, residents and traders hope that this fluidity will be repeated in future snow clearing operations.

“They’re unlucky because storms often come up on Fridays and they don’t clear the snow on Saturdays but on Sundays,” adds Café Olive owner Sami Boudaya. You have to be a little understanding.”

“I hope it’s not just once and that these situations don’t happen again,” said Pub Galway owner Yves Ledoux. We have other things to do than run after the city.”

The snow clearing, which took place overnight from Friday to Saturday, is the first of a series that will take place in the coming days given the amount of snow in the Capitale-Nationale.

“Sunday we’re picking up everywhere, we’re going to remove the snow everywhere,” explained Marie-Pierre Raymond, the person in charge of maintaining Quebec City’s roads. We have at least four to five days of snow clearing work.”

The city estimates the clusters are on the order of 22 centimeters.

Some seven thousand people have gathered since last night at a rave party taking place in the municipality of Sarral in Tarragona, prompting the Mossos to arrest two people for assaulting an agent as they attempted to skip a police checkpoint. The police also confiscated various material intended for the party, especially music equipment.

The festival takes place around the hermitage of Sants Metges in Sarral, an area where a multitude of cars and caravans are parked. Local sources have reported that the latest estimate of participants in the party is around 7,000 people, an avalanche before which the city council is erecting New Jersey-style barriers at the city’s entrances to prevent the arrival of new participants.

For their part, the Mossos have reported that agents from the ARRO unit and the Traffic Service have been maintaining access controls to the party on various roads since Friday night, particularly on the AP-2 highway, where breathalyser tests are also being carried out. The Catalan police will maintain access control to the party originally planned for the whole weekend.

Miami: She smashes a $42,000 sculpture

A woman accidentally smashed a balloon dog sculpture at an art gallery in Miami, US, causing $42,000 (C$57,000) in damage.

It was Jeff Koons who made this sculpture famous and the fragility of this sculpture was proven on Thursday when visitors to an art fair saw the blue porcelain sculpture fall to the ground and shatter into pieces.

The dog, who was 16 inches tall and 19 inches long, was perched on a transparent base at Art Wynwood, an art fair in downtown Miami where more than 50 American and foreign galleries are exhibiting work through Sunday.

“Before I realized they were picking up the Jeff Koons pieces with a broom,” artist and art collector Stephen Gamson said Saturday.

Mr Gamson said he was about to present the sculpture to his group when he saw a woman touch the sculpture with her finger and knock it off the pedestal.

The scene was like “a car crash on the freeway when people are watching and the traffic picks up and it becomes big business,” he added.

As an art collector, he saw an opportunity and asked the gallery owner if she wanted to sell the pieces. He is still waiting for an answer to his offer.

On the way to record participation: A “clear success” for the opening of the Pentathlon des Neiges

The Pentathlon des Neiges got underway on Saturday and this year’s edition could very well beat its attendance record set in March 2020, just before the pandemic began.

New General Manager Cynthia Paquet did not hesitate to describe the first day of the event as a “great success”.

“We are very fortunate because after the pandemic there are events that are struggling to regain their attendance and participation rate. […] We hope to do even better next year,” she points out, while only about forty registrations are missing to reach the 2020 mark, for a total of 6,156 people.

Participants and spectators came to the site in their hundreds on Saturday. The first three events of the weekend passed off in good spirits despite the chilling February wind blowing across the Plains of Abraham.

“We had a great day. The two challenges this morning and one this afternoon went very well. I think the spectators and the participants are very happy,” continues the one who is leading her first winter pentathlon.

A lot of work

She claims snow grooming teams have had to work hard to tame the unexpected amounts of snow that fell on the Quebec region during the day on Friday.

“Of course, the courses were a bit softer than expected because of the snow, but we worked hard to offer the best possible conditions,” supports the DG.

Ms. Paquet also wanted to highlight the City of Quebec’s efforts to clear snow from the roads surrounding the Plains of Abraham.

The lack of maintenance last weekend, when the Carnaval de Quebec and the Tournoi International de Hockey Pee-Wee de Quebec were in full swing, had caused displeasure among the population.

victory among friends

The first team to cross the finish line of the Short Distance Team Challenge, the Quillés, completed the course in five stages with a time of 1h31m7s. The five friends, in their 20s, finished 9th after a bumpy start .6 km long cycle race took first place out of 193 teams.

Whoever climbed into the saddle, Xavier Asselin, bears all the blame. “That was our most difficult stage. Luckily we managed to climb the slope in the following ones,” he explains.

His brother Edward instead believes it is the mount that is responsible for the Skittles’ slow start. “It’s the bike I use every day to get around […] it’s rather rudimentary,” jokes his eldest.

After 14th place, the five companions started in the snowshoeing, skating, skiing and running disciplines to climb to the top step of the podium. Last year, the two Asselin brothers and their friend Félix Bédard took third place over the short distance with two other teammates. The addition of skater Alexis Marceau and cross-country skier Thomas Csisztu will have made the difference this year,

“We’re here mostly for fun, we’re a group of friends spending the weekend in Quebec. After third place we wanted to get first place and we worked hard for it. concludes Xavier Asselin.
