Charlamagne Tha God salutes DeSantis and Abbott for sending migrants to the Blue States of Sanctuary City
Famed Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God expressed his approval of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sending busloads of migrants to Blue State cities, calling the move “brilliant.” “.
The longtime radio host gave a panel on Comedy Central’s Hell of a Week and told his panelmates he thinks the idea is a good way to expose the hypocrisy of Democrats who don’t want migrants in their areas.
Abbott has sent about 2,500 migrants to New York City, while DeSantis pulled off a stunning stunt by flying 50 Venezuelan migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in an unannounced attempt to relocate the asylum seekers.
“Personally, I think it’s brilliant,” Charlamagne said, “but I wish governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott would give Democratic governors and mayors more forewarning.”
“Because that would expose the hypocrisy of the Democrats, who don’t want immigrants here either,” he said.

Angela Rye, center left, pushed back on Charlamagne’s approval, saying she wanted to know “what kind of Christianity” the GOP governors practice
The first to push back on Charlamagne’s opinion was Angela Rye, a special correspondent for ESPN who covers race and social justice for the sports network titan.
Rye began her speech with an eye roll, saying she wanted to “dig deeper into the fact that these people take pride” in sending immigrants to places they “didn’t expect.”
Charlamagne pointed out that they will be sent to cities of refuge, to which Rye replied: “It doesn’t matter. If you haven’t talked to these people about your plans… It’s a political game for them.’
Rye called Abbott and DeSantis “Bible-beating Christian governors” and further wondered “what kind of Christianity they practice.”
Author and intellectual Malcolm Gladwell then joined the discussion and agreed with Rye, asking: “How are we in a situation in our country when we treat people who want to come here as props in some kind of political stunt? ‘
Comedian Roy Wood Jr. was the last to chime in, and made a poignant point when he said Democratic cities are “the same cities that ship their homeless people to the outskirts,” with which Rye agreed.
Wood Jr. went on to say that cities are “already intentionally hiding people,” making their complaints about Abbott and DeSantis’ moves seem hypocritical.
Rye then pleaded that we have some “humanity and compassion about this conversation,” saying “the country has missed immigration for a very long time.”
She also said Abbott and DeSantis were “terrified” if there was a “browning of their conditions,” and Charlamagne agreed with the analysis.
According to Democratic Mayor Eric Adams, New York’s migrant housing facilities have been marginalized in recent months — 23 shelters have already opened in the city.
Adams said 38 more shelters will be created to help address the growing problem.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (pictured) has been criticized for his plan to ship migrants across the country
The city’s immigration commissioner says many of the migrants picked up on buses by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott are from Venezuela.
Manuel Castro claims that the majority of illegal immigrants who have arrived in New York want to go to Florida because of its large community of Venezuelans.
“We help them get to their actual destination. We do our best. All states and all cities have a role to play here, not just New York and Chicago and other places.’
New York City law requires the city to provide housing to anyone who requests it, with Castro adding that there are currently around 7,300 asylum seekers in the system.
The system is so overwhelmed that City Hall has had to contract hotel rooms to accommodate the thousands coming into the city.

GOP officials say they are keen to give liberal haven cities a glimpse of the strain uncontrolled illegal immigration is putting on border communities.
Abbott has sent buses to New York, Chicago and DC, including to the vice president’s doorstep, and this week DeSantis sent a plane carrying 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, the affluent island of Massachusetts.
The White House has condemned the Republican governors’ efforts, saying the migrants, mostly from Venezuela, are being used in a political stunt.
“They were children. They were mothers. They fled Communism. And what did Governor DeSantis and Governor Abbott do to them? They used them as political pawns, treated them like chattels,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a news conference Friday.
She said: “This is an inhumane and abhorrent problem and we should not use people, migrants, fleeing communism as a political pawn.”
