Fabio Fazio becomes an entrepreneur: opens a chocolate factory with products designed by Maestro Corrado Assenza Syracuse News Syracuse News

He’s already been renamed Italian TV’s Willy Wonka, but Fabio Fazio prefers to define himself as the ‘chocolate editor’. The conductor actually bought a chocolate factory, Lavoratti, a historic brand in Varazze, the birthplace of Fazio’s father, where the future conductor spent much of his childhood. Lavoratti was finally destroyed by the pandemic. So Fazio, together with his friend Davide Petrini, an entrepreneur working in the catering industry and also in the FFP2 masks sector, decided to take over the company and completely renew its machines and products in order to launch high-quality chocolates on the market. created by an institution of confectionery tradition and the wise use of ingredients such as Corrado Assenza, legendary owner of Caffé Sicilia in Noto.

The only thing that Fazio really wanted to keep is the Lavoratti brand, accompanied by the year of the company’s birth: 1938. Lavoratti 1938 thus stands out on every packaging of the production line with an elegant packaging “all made of Italian paper and completely biodegradable”. , explained Fazio at the official christening of his “second life” organized at Carlo Cracco’s restaurant in Portofino. Each product is reminiscent of a publication in the picture. So the series of tablets in different flavors are collected in one box like a series of books, then there are the chocolate sticks and the chocolates that are collected in volumes. “As in publishing, there will be special editions and monographs.” And the Easter eggs will also be contained in an Albissola pottery.

The ingredients deserve a special mention, especially fruit, but also salt and sage, selected by Assenza among the small top products of our land, from Giffoni hazelnuts to Bronte green pistachios and Cinque Terre lemons. “We produce fruit powder in Lavoratti with a precise drying process,” explains Assenza. The main ingredient cocoa comes from Ecuador. From a multi-award-winning, fifth-generation family business, Hacienda San José, that “ensures sustainability standards and a code of ethics at work,” Fazio pointed out. The new Lavoratti “already employs 15 people, including 20 in affiliated companies,” said Petrini, who is CEO of the company, which was also founded by his wife Alessia Parodi, Fazio and his wife Gioia.

One of the first special editions concerns Christmas, with “chocolates inspired by the typical flavors of Christmas food,” added the host, who will be conducting “Che tempo che fa” again from October 9, with a contract with Rai at the end of the season ends. “This is an important year, the twentieth. We will see. One thing is certain: With my second life as a chocolatier, I have created an oasis of happiness for myself”. Finally, to the Adnkronos who asked him if he intends to adapt this chocolate story into a TV story (after what happens to ‘Chef’s Table’ on Netflix, for example),

Fazio replied, “Not even for a dream”.

Federer, a perfectionist in constant evolution

Roger Federer, whoever or whatever, was bestowed a natural gift for playing tennis. It’s evident that his racquet has always been an extension of his surgical right arm and that the Swiss also has a privileged ability to spot and draw angles that don’t exist in the minds of most tennis players. There was certainly no player with greater determination to decide the point, or so fabulous at executing the shot, whether on the move or standing still. Alongside his technical mastery, there is also an extraordinary ability to make the most difficult things easy: a Binomial, which is as uncontrollable as space-time, to reconcile.

It has not escaped anyone that Federer is a gifted player, but those who have followed his footsteps or know him well speak of a born worker. There’s magic and innateness, virtuosity yes, but behind the legend there’s also hours of honing and rehearsing. Despite having evolved on the track from a sixth sense and on many occasions from improvisational flashes of inspiration, the Swiss has never been stingy when it comes to hitting the gym and analyzing his rivals. He loves to watch the games and his build is deceptive: while no Hercules, he’s skinny as reeds and has a lower body of steel.

More information

That said, behind the entire show and unlikely points is a full-fledged hard worker. Federer is born, but also made. “There’s always room to improve a little,” he admitted in May 2019 at the last meeting with EL PAÍS. “It can be a hit here or there, or how you organize to recalibrate everything, the mental preparation of where I train… There’s always little things to do. I always try to return to my best level and for that I have to prove it day by day,” he added during this meeting at the Caja Mágica in Madrid, which lasted half an hour and in which he not only talked about his tennis in depth he delved into his intimacy, stating that if he had had a choice, he would have liked to have been “a normal person.”

Federer never was. At least not in tennis. His perfectionist profile and constant desire to evolve and refine a very Cartesian proposal gave rise to a player very different from the one who started beating his first places; essentially the same but different. To do this, he uses numerous technicians who file edges, provide solutions and adapt to the times. The original Federer, who got angry easily in his youth and lost his temper on more than one occasion, is not the same as the mature tennis player who racked up Grand Slams or the veteran who was forced to reinvent himself in his thirties to cope with it to follow beat.

The Mirror by Michael Jordan

He never stopped innovating. The same was invented to corner the rivals who converted the backhand to harden and counter, or redesigned his Wilson (lighter, wider and thicker) in search of flatter and more damaging trajectories. Age didn’t matter. That was key to mollifying Rafael Nadal’s devastating right.

“He changed tennis forever,” praises Ivan Ljubicic, the last coach who shaped it together with his friend Severin Lüthi. “He has been voted the favorite tennis player by fans for 19 years in a row [en la votación propuesta por la ATP a final de cada temporada] and has taken tennis to another level. All his rivals had to evolve to keep up with him,” adds the coach, completing a long list that reflects the Swiss’ constant desire to step up a notch.

On the orders of Peter Carter (1998-2000), who died in a traffic accident that left a severe mark on the tennis player, he left to join the elite; took over the baton (from 2000 to 2003) Peter Lundgren, with whom he raised his first major (Wimbledon 2003); then came Tony Roche (2005-2007) and the Spaniard José Higueras, hired (2008) with the aim of rethinking his game on clay and thus entering the top of Roland Garros; Paul Annacone would later sit on the bench and before the Croatian Ljubicic settled down as an advisor on the final straight (from 2015), the Swiss worked with one of his idols, the Swede Stefan Edberg, with whom he gained aggressiveness and aggressiveness between 2014 and 2015 multiplied his game at the net.

“I’m not Mr. Perfect”

Apart from the exquisiteness of the forms and the sobriety on the court, they all describe a victory eater and a meticulous and fierce competitor who drew inspiration from his great idol: basketball player Michael Jordan. “He was the player. He surpassed basketball and was a hero for our entire generation,” Federer said a few years ago. “His longevity, the way he made it look easy, his drive to win, to want to be the best, to succeed under pressure, to be a superstar in a team sport, to excel for so many years… He, he was my hero.”

In addition to the 23 of the cops, he also had connections to Edberg himself and the German Boris Becker. In all of them he found hints, tricks, solutions and motivation to push boundaries. “I don’t think I’m perfect, I want to keep being someone normal. I think that the media created this image of me a bit,” the Swiss assured EL PAÍS in an interview conducted in May 2015 with the French embassy as a framework. In times of vanities and more than questionable models, Federer’s sensible message: “I know that I’m a reference for many children and I take that very seriously, but I don’t think Mr. Perfect is the right adjective for me, it is totally exaggerated”.

Indonesia: 7 dead in a landslide in a mine (authorities)

A landslide at an illegal gold mine in Indonesia has killed seven people and injured five, authorities said on Saturday, and said a dozen people were still missing.

“There are seven dead and five injured. The others are still missing,” Lembah Bawang district official Adris (he has only one name, like many Indonesians) told AFP.

The accident happened on Thursday, but the information became known later because the mine was located in a remote area.

Victims were busy panning for gold on a hilltop when a landslide caused by heavy rains hit West Kalimantan province on the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo. A total of twenty people were buried.

Artisanal mines abound on this mineral-rich Southeast Asian archipelago, where abandoned sites attract locals in search of gold without proper safety gear.

This type of drama is common in Indonesia, especially during the rainy season.

A police officer, Bayu Seno, said help is on its way from the nearest town, Pontianak, more than 160 kilometers from the landslide-hit area.

He estimated the search could take a week, but if the rain continues, the search could be postponed “to avoid further landslides.”

In April, 12 women working in an illegal gold mine in North Sumatra province were killed when a cliff collapsed.

Last year six miners were killed when an illegal mine collapsed in Parigi Moutong on the island of Celebes.

In 2020, eleven miners were killed in a landslide in Sumatra.

In the musical universe of Rymz

It took Maskoutaine rapper Rymz four years to release his new album, which is slated for the fall. But he has not been idle in the meantime.

• Also read: Back to school 2022: 15 Quebec shows to watch

• Also read: Back to school 2022: 15 classical concerts and operas for ears and eyes

In recent years, Rymz has chained singles, collaborations, and shows. And he intends to continue the adventure with a tour of France soon.

Always willing to represent his hip-hop community, he’s happy to talk about his friends’ work when it comes to showing off his musical passions.

Has the way you work in the studio changed over the course of your albums?

Certainly yes. I used to arrive better prepared. But now I like to work with the “beatmakers”, with the people who are there. I like to let myself go spontaneously.

Have you got your team listening to albums to give them an idea of the “mood” you’re trying to find?

Especially with “Beatmakers”. I come up with “vibes” or types of textures that I would like to find. I do it regularly.

Often it is in series or in a film. There’s always a little epic side. It’s effective. Film music consists of fairly short sequences. It’s perfect for rapping or “sampling”. Hans Zimmer is the best example. It’s so epic and awesome.

On one of my then popular songs, “Y sais pas” (featuring Mauvais Acte), I had taken a “sample” from The Lion King.

Do you come from a musical family?

My mother played the piano. We always had a magnificent ancestral piano at my house. An upright piano. My mother made music in the house. Of course that could have appealed to me. She also always wrote little poems, which she carefully hid.

And what music did your parents listen to?

My mother was Eurythmics, Queen, The Cranberries. My father was more interested in Quebec music: Plume Latraverse, Richard Desjardins. All Harmonium Albums. He also liked Francis Cabrel.

What were your basic requirements in high school?

When gangsta rap came along, it was Dr. Dre and his whole gang. Before that it was more like The Offspring, Limp Bizkit. But “2001” by Dr. Dre is an album that I’ve listened to a lot. That and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers.

Otherwise what I heard on repeat is really unknown. It was a group from Saint-Hyacinthe called Les Patriotes… I bought their tape at the Videotron Club. Also “L’Accent Grave” by Yvon Krevé, I could sing it to you by heart.

Was it the first one on “Rap Queb” that turned you on?

I liked Dubmatique, but since they spoke French it was more in the French rap category in my mind. Like IAM and “L’école du micro d’argent” it’s an album that I really listened to. Like the Funky Family… But in Quebec it was really Yvon Krevé, Les Patriotes, Sans pression, Muzion.

Were there hip hop “shows” in Saint-Hyacinthe?

Yes! They were big “shows” and more. I had seen No Pressure play there. I saw him in Baie-Saint-Paul two weeks ago and asked him if he remembered asking my gang and I to film his “show”.

At the end of this “show” it was Loco Locass after him. Then he was angry. He didn’t want to leave and smashed his manager’s tank after the show. He jumped with both feet. His arm was in a cast. He beat up the tank. It’s one of my earliest memories of a rap “show” in my life.

Is it the “show” that made you pursue music as well?

I also remember Farfadet, who I think sang with the Chiens de campagne at the time. They also performed. That whetted my appetite. Because I saw that we can do that in Saint-Hyacinthe, sing and rap on a “stage”.

Your favorite copywriter?

Richard Desjardins. He’s a storyteller that I enjoy listening to.

An album to listen to without “skipping” any “melodies”?

What a good question! I would name any Loud Lary Ajust album. It’s so well built.

Which producer or musician would you dream of collaborating with in your wildest dreams?

It would be a pianist… Jean-Michel Blais.

Your newest musical crush?

I will rap because I want to represent my community. There is one album that I really liked. These are guys I’ve known for a long time, Sauce and Sadam Huss. Her album is called “Holy Grail”. It’s brewing!

Otherwise, I recently went to Dua Lipa. It’s more pop but she does it so well.

Your plans for starting school?

After four years my album is finally available! But I’m not stingy with time. I take advantage of it. I am not trying to deliver goods.

There is also a tour with Youv Dee. He’s an incredible French artist. We did the Francos together. It really clicked. He returned to Chiller two weeks after the show. We made songs. And there he returns for a tour in Quebec.

After that we will return to France for a tour with him. We asked to do small squares as well so it would really be rock ‘n’ roll. “Shows” that are brewing like in time!

Valencia Prime dies: Philadelphia’s drag community mourns drag queen who collapsed on stage – WPVI-TV

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Valencia Prime has been a fixture on the Philadelphia drag scene, hosting their own live showcase called “Prime Time”.

While hosting this show on Monday night, she collapsed and later died.

“It happened so quickly,” said friend and drag performer Nikita Sinnn Monroe, who was preparing to perform elsewhere when she heard the news about Prime.

Asia Monroe, who is also a cast member, says she received updated information about the incident when friends attended the show and witnessed what happened.

“I think the Philadelphia scene will never be the same,” said Asia Monroe. “She was truly a wonderful, loving and caring person.”

At 25, Valencia was prime in her heyday as a popular drag queen in Philadelphia. She self-identified as a trans woman and billed herself as “Philadelphia’s Plus Size Dancing Diva.”

“She was really all over the picture,” said Asia Monroe. “If you didn’t know who Valencia Prime was, you didn’t see Philadelphia draw!”

While doing what she loved, which was performing, Prime collapsed on the stage at Center City’s Taboo nightclub.

“Paramedics were there, they weren’t responding,” Asia Monroe said.

The Philadelphia coroner lists Prime’s cause of death as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which is a form of heart disease. The agency classified the cause of death as natural.

Instead of thinking about how she died, Valencia Prime’s friends prefer to remember how she lived.

“I really saw Valencia step up to the top and be the person to help people in times of need,” said Asia Monroe.

Friends say Prime has served as a mother figure in the drag and trans communities.

“She was the first person to help me figure out I was trans,” Nikita Sinnn told Monroe through tears.

Left with a void, the friends of Valencia Prime vow to carry it in their hearts and on stage.

“Just knowing that she’s up there looking down on us, we’re going to keep performing because I know that’s what she would expect us to do,” Asia Monroe said.

A GoFundMe page has raised more than $11,000 for Valencia’s family.

A benefit performance will be held at Tabu on Monday night in honor of Valencia Prime.

Aaron Rodger’s treatment of recipients is driving me nuts

Sean Payton expects better from Aaron Rodgers.

Payton, the former longtime head coach of the Saints who now serves as a Fox NFL analyst, expressed his displeasure with Rodger’s body language and comments during and after the Packers’ Week 1 loss to the Vikings.

“It’s driving me crazy,” Payton said said on the “NFL Rhodes Show”. “It makes me crazy.”

Rodgers was particularly critical of the team’s young reception group, which lost Davante Adams when the Packers traded him to the Raiders in a blockbuster this offseason. During the preseason, Rodgers said, “The young guys, especially the young receivers, we have to be a lot more consistent. Many falls, many wrong route decisions, drove the wrong route. We have to get better in this area.”

That sentiment has now carried over into the regular season, where rookie receiver Christian Watson dropped an easy, wide-open wannabe touchdown from 75 yards early in the loss.

“There will be growing pains,” Rodgers said after the game. “It’s real football, that’s what counts. It’s different, there are nerves. … We have to make these games.”

Sean Payton, Aaron RodgersSean Payton, Aaron Rodgers USA TODAY Sports (2)

Those comments rubbed Payton the wrong way, who would have preferred Rodgers to take responsibility rather than pinning the blame on rookies and young players.

“After the game we go to the locker room for the interview and the very first question Aaron was asked was how to rebound and he was referring to the first play of the game, a rookie’s dropped pass,” Payton said. “And I was like, ‘Come on.’ I like Aaron Rodgers, but I didn’t like what I saw.”

Nancy Pelosi travels to Armenia on Saturday after clashes with Azerbaijan

New controversy in sight? This Friday, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi hinted that on Saturday she would travel to Armenia, which recently faced violent clashes on its border with Azerbaijan.

“Tomorrow we will visit Armenia,” Nancy Pelosi replied to a question during a press conference on the occasion of the two-day meeting of the speakers of the G7 parliaments in Berlin.

Joe Biden, first US President to recognize the Armenian Genocide

She explained that the Armenians had extended an invitation long ago but, for security reasons, “refused to give further details about the visit”. Nancy Pelosi added that the visit was marked by “respect for human rights and respect for the dignity of every person”.

Joe Biden was the first sitting US President to call the deaths of a million and a half Armenians massacred by the Ottoman Empire in 1915 “genocide,” angering Turkey.

200 killed in battle with Azerbaijan

The US official’s visit comes as more than 200 people have died in recent fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces, with both sides blaming each other. Those clashes erupted on Tuesday and ended in an international mediation on Thursday evening.

This is an unprecedented escalation since 2020 that threatens to torpedo a fragile peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, two rival countries in the Caucasus.

Its Caucasian neighbors have fought two wars — in 2020 and in the 1990s — over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, the Armenian-populated enclave of Azerbaijan.
