Vladimir Zelensky’s Ukrainian video “Dancing with the Stars” from 2006 went viral

In addition to his political career and leadership, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been praised by many on social media for his entertaining past.

A re-enactment of Zelenski, who is agile on his feet, and his winning ballets from the national version of 2006’s Dancing with the Stars went viral on Monday.

Fans from Twitter to TikTok admire Zelenski’s moves – including a trick that shows him and his partner Olena Shoptenko blindfolded while mentally counting steps to achieve their goals with perfection.

“I actually fainted [sic]”, Signed a user of Tik Tok video of Zelenski and Shoptenko.

The celebration of Zelensky’s recklessness came just days after British actor Hugh Bonneville, one of the stars of the Paddington franchise, revealed that the 44-year-old is the familiar voice behind the Peruvian bear in the Ukrainian versions of Paddington and Paddington 2.

“Until today, I had no idea who voted for @paddingtonbear in Ukraine. I speak for myself, thank you, President Zelenski. #PaddingtonBear, “he tweeted, along with a video of Zelensky.

The news was then confirmed by the producer of the film StudioCanal to The Hollywood Reporter.

Russia launched an attack on Ukraine, including Kyiv, last week with a decision what Russian authorities called a “special military operation.”

Other popular images also show the founder of the Servant of the People political party on the front lines with many of his compatriots and women, and he has been praised as a “true leader.”

More than 100 civilians have been killed and hundreds wounded in more than four days of fighting, according to UN human rights chief Michel Bachelet.

The price of bitcoin (BTC) is jumping as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues

Bitcoin jumped 13 percent on Tuesday, continuing its sharp recovery as Russia’s attack on Ukraine continues and the United States tightens sanctions.

The cryptocurrency rose more than 13% to $ 43,500.16 at 3:03 a.m. ET after peaking at $ 44,165.90 in the last 24 hours, according to CoinDesk. This rally comes after cryptocurrency prices fell last week as risky assets such as shares sold off after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ether rose nearly 11% to $ 2,922.86.

Over the years, Bitcoin proponents have touted the cryptocurrency as “digital gold,” an asset that provides a safe haven for investors in times of turmoil or even as a potential hedge against inflation. But bitcoin did not present itself in this way. Instead, it is more related to the movement of stock prices, even as inflation continues to peak for many years and military conflict ensues. This case of bitcoin as digital gold has crashed in recent weeks.

Vijay Ayyar, vice president of corporate development and international development at the Luno cryptocurrency exchange, said that could change.

“Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are likely to have their turning point amid global uncertainty and tensions over the Russia-Ukraine crisis,” Ayar told CNBC.

“Crypto is separated from traditional markets and can be clearly seen in the performance.”

People are also donating cryptocurrency to the Ukrainian military, “proving that crypto is a technology that cannot be ignored,” Ayar added.

He also said that the bottom for bitcoin is already being formed as the war begins.

Michael Rinko, a contributor to AscendEx, told CNBC on Monday that $ 38,000 was a key level for bitcoin.

“More people bought at $ 38,000 than at any other level above or below for a good margin,” he said.

Additional sanctions

The bitcoin rally came when the United States imposed additional sanctions on Russia. Washington has turned to Russia’s central bank, effectively banning Americans from doing any business with the bank and freezing its assets in the United States.

This comes in addition to sanctions against Russia’s oligarchs and public debt, as well as actions aimed at cutting the country off from the global financial system.

There is debate over whether bitcoin, which is not owned or issued by a single central bank, can be used by Russia to evade sanctions. But the amount of money Russia will have to convert to and from bitcoin may be too much, according to Ari Redboard, head of legal and government affairs at TRM Labs.

“You will see Russia trying to bypass the US financial system by turning to cryptocurrency. “I think the problem is that liquidity just doesn’t exist,” Redboard told CNBC’s Squawk Box Asia.

On Sunday, Mikhail Fedorov, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister, asked major cryptocurrency exchanges to block the addresses of Russian consumers.

Binance, the world’s largest stock exchange, said it would freeze the accounts of all Russians on the sanctions list, but would not “unilaterally” block all Russian users’ accounts.

Other cryptocurrency exchanges have taken a similar position.

Zoe Kravitz confirms that her character Catwoman is bisexual in Batman

Zoe Kravitz seems to have confirmed long-standing rumors that her version of Catwoman is bisexual in her upcoming film Batman.

The 33-year-old actress admitted that she “interpreted” the character as part of the LGBTQ community in an interview with the Australian Pedestrian.tv, published on Monday.

Although Kravitz’s character seems to have an emotional entanglement with the eponymous cloaked crusader (played by Robert Pattinson), she may have had lovers.

A new direction? Zoe Kravtiz, 33, said she “interprets” her character Selina Kyle (also known as Catwoman) as bisexual in her new film The Batwoman, according to an interview published Monday by Pedestrian.tv; seen on February 23 in London

Batman includes an early scene with Zoe’s character Selina Kyle, in which she returns to her apartment and calls her friend Annika, calling her a “baby” in the process, suggesting they have a romantic relationship.

Although her possible romance with another woman is only hinted at, her attraction to Bruce Wayne / Batman is explicit, as the two kiss later in the film.

She also confuses her status by calling Annika a “friend” while talking to Pattinson’s character.

Zoe admitted that she accepted the earlier scene to mean that Selina is bisexual, even if it is not explicitly stated as such.

“It’s definitely the way I interpreted it to have had some kind of romantic relationship,” she said.

After the interviewer shared his excitement about seeing a bisexual Catwoman on screen, the Big Little Lies actress added, “I agree!”

But film director Matt Reeves was more ambiguous when it came to Selina Kyle’s sexuality.

‘[The film is] very loyal to the character of Selina Kyle. She is not yet a Catwoman, but all the elements of how she will become a Catwoman are there, “he explained.

“And as for her relationship with Annika, I talked to Zoe very early and one of the things she said that I liked was that, ‘She’s attracted to homeless people because she’s homeless and that’s why she really wants to be. take care of these homeless people because she no longer wants to be like that, and Annika is homeless and loves her. She is, in fact, the connection she has with her mother, who has lost, who is already homeless. “

The Cloverfield director clarified that the character is not explicitly intended to be bisexual, but he is open to this interpretation of fans.

“So I don’t think we wanted to go straight that way, but you can certainly interpret it that way. She has an intimacy with this character and it is a huge and deep care for this character, more than something sexual, but there had to be a very intimate relationship between them.

Batman is simply the latest superhero movie to include hints of LGBTQ characters, although many fans have scoffed at past films for refusing to include more fully developed weird stars.

The Avengers: Endgame was ridiculed by some fans after the film was touted as Marvel’s first openly gay character, although the character turned out to be a minor character in just seconds on screen who mentions her husband in a support group visited by Captain America ( Chris Evans).

The character was played by one of the film’s directors, Joe Rousseau, who is not gay himself, which also annoys some fans.

Tessa Thompson is also believed to play her character Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and his successors as bisexual, but a scene explicitly confirming her sexuality was cut.

Big studios like Disney / Marvel and Warner Bros. they may hesitate to include more prominent LGBTQ characters for fear of offending some fans or banning films in more culturally conservative countries.

The question of whether the Catwoman is bisexual in Batman did not seem to excite most reviewers, as the film currently boasts an impressive 87 percent fresh rating from critics polled by Rotten Tomatoes.

Although some previous viewers complained that the film was four minutes less than three hours – with credits included – and others mocked its dark visual style, the noir-influenced tone appealed to many critics.

Vulture’s Bilge Ebiri praised Batman’s dark tone, which he said was appropriate, as Batman is “the saddest of the characters.”

NPR critic Glenn Weldon hailed the film for ignoring some of the clichéd features of the Batman films, skipping the death of Bruce Wayne’s parents.

Slate’s Dana Stevens noted the “emotional power” of the way Batman made her protagonist a “Hamlet-like heir who can’t handle the initial shock of killing her parents,” and she also praised Zoe for a welcome break from parade of male antagonists.

Last for QB The Future of Aaron Rodgers with Packers

Packers are preparing for the future where Aaron Rodgers is their quarterback. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network (via Twitter), the organization and Rodgers are working on a new contract if QB stays around Green Bay.

USATSI 15990041s In particular, both sides expect a short-term deal that will make Rodgers the highest paid player in the NFL on an annual basis. Patrick Mahoms currently leads the NFL with $ 45 million AAV. Rodgers is in seventh place with $ 33.5 million.

“Nothing has been done, but they are having discussions.” Rapoport said (via Michael Buck of NFL.com). “They are negotiating to make a deal, I hope for them, ready to go if and when Aaron Rodgers firmly decides and finally wants to return.

Here are some similarities with 2018, when the Packers had to make a record deal to keep Rodgers with the Packers. We recently heard that Rodgers is looking for a contract to pay him $ 50 million per season, although QB quickly dispelled these rumors. Although this would be a monstrous number and represents a seismic increase in quarterback salaries over the past two years, Rodgers is now negotiating with successive MVPs in his resume.

Of course, there is still an obvious wrinkle that is hampering the negotiations. Rodgers has not informed the Packers that it wants to stay in Green Bay, and many teams have reportedly sent trade offers to the Packers. Rodgers intends to inform the pack soon of his decision,

RT America continues to air as Europe and Canada close branches of Russia’s propaganda network

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

As Kremlin-backed Russia Today network was expelled and dropped in Europe and Canada after the invasion of Ukraine, RT’s US subsidiary continues to broadcast from Washington, DC

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Sunday that RT, as well as its counterpart, the global Russian channel Sputnik, would be banned in the European Union, calling them the “Kremlin media machine”, adding that the EU was developing instruments to ban of their toxic and harmful misinformation. “Major Canadian television providers also announced last weekend that they would exclude RT from their lineups.

This leads to questions at home about what should be done, if anything, about the green logo store, whose motto as a state-sponsored publication is “More questions”.

Former Intelligence Defense Officer Rebecca Coffler said RT and other propaganda abroad were part of the ongoing cyber warfare that Russia is paying for in the West.

NETFLIX SAYS THAT IT WILL NOT MAKE TELEVISION CHANNELS OF THE KREMLIN INSIDE RUSSIA, CONTRARY TO THE NEW GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVE

“They’re not just propaganda in war, in conflict,” she told Fox News Digital. “They do it in peacetime. They are constantly slandering the United States and misrepresenting foreign policy goals… I’m just saying that this inclines equality to Russia when we allow their propaganda channels to air without restrictions. RT America is not a delicate propaganda of Vladimir Putin 24 hours a day, as it also broadcasts news about celebrities and sports, but the editorial content is undoubtedly distorted to give shine to the Russian version of events. In 2017, the US government required RT as a foreign agent.

RT is a 100% Russian government-controlled channel and its sole intention is to predispose the American population and wherever it broadcasts to the Russian point of view and to present events on the ground as Russians want the rest of the world to see them, so if the United states don’t want that to happen, then it would be appropriate to close the canal, “Coffler said.

RT America probably has a small television audience – the Washington Post noted that Nielsen does not even measure it and the channel is not available to most cable subscribers – but it has many followers on social media, with millions of followers and subscribers on Twitter and YouTube.

RUSSIA INVASES UKRAINE: LIVE UPDATES

Much of RT.com’s website reads as Kremlin press releases on Monday as “Putin criticizes the West’s’ empire of lies’ ‘and’ No plans to occupy Ukraine, Russia tells UN ‘.” However, the site reports arrests of anti-war protesters in Russia.

On TV on Monday, the chiron of an RT show simply read “DEMILITARIZATION AND DENACIFICATION,” echoing the Kremlin’s line that the invasion was aimed at liberating Ukraine from Nazi rule. The president of Ukraine is Jewish and some of his relatives died in the Holocaust. Last week, journalist Dan Cohen told RT America viewers that it was “absolutely untrue” that Russia was an aggressor against Ukraine, and said that Putin’s portrayal of the conflict as a “denazification campaign” was “absolutely accurate.”

Fox News contributor and former national security official KT McFarland disagreed with calls to oust RT America from the country’s airwaves, even for an autocratic government.

“I believe in freedom of the press, even if the press is the propaganda arm of the Russian government,” McFarland told Fox News Digital. “However, I strongly encourage dissident Russians, Ukrainian freedom fighters and others around the world who oppose Putin’s aggression to oppose with their own online podcasts and programs.”

She added that she would also encourage technology and social media companies to help spread their messages in the United States and the rest of the world, but especially in Russia.

RUSSIA’S FAILURES MAY LEAD TO MORE UNSELECTIVE ATTACKS AGAINST UKRAINIANS, SAYS FORMER INTEL OFFICER

Political media writer Jack Shaffer agreed, writing on Saturday that the United States would be foolish to give RT the “tempting taste of the forbidden fruit” by expelling him.

“Ideas, we generally agree, must fight for themselves, against ‘legitimate’ contenders, extreme positions or outright propaganda. “The government, which insists on looking after its children by approving some speakers and suffocating others, is not doing them any favors,” he wrote.

RT America played out the expulsion of the network in Europe by inviting a “political speaker” on Monday, who called the EU decision “totalitarianism”.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told RT and Sputnik at a briefing on February 3, saying she had not discussed the media with President Biden, but said it was “quite factual” that they were propaganda tools for Russia.

“Does the president have any position on the activities, the presence of publications such as Russia Today and Sputnik? … Because in some countries they are seen as outright propaganda tools of the Kremlin. Given that things are quite cold with Putin at the moment, what is the position on the issue? “- asked a reporter.

“I haven’t talked to the president about RT or Sputnik,” Psaki said. “I think it is quite factual to say that they are propaganda tools that work on behalf of the Russian government. I don’t know anyone questioning that… But I haven’t discussed this specifically with him. “

“I don’t think there is any doubt, because we are trying to decipher information that is accurate and inaccurate, it is important for the American people to know that there are publications working on behalf of foreign governments that have an agenda and they do not play a role. of the free press and free media, as you all are, “she added.

Toyota cyberattack: Production will restart in Japan after an attack on Kojima Industries

There is no information as to who was behind the attack, nor the motives. This came just after Japan joined Western allies in pushing Russia in response to the invasion of Ukraine, although it was unclear whether the attack was linked.

Cybersecurity is emerging as a key area of concern in Japan, where government critics say responses to hacking threats have been hampered by a broken approach: an attack on a hitherto unknown supplier was enough to put one of the world’s most powerful manufacturers in the world. stagnation.

of Toyota (TM) The production lines will be re-launched in its 14 factories across the country on Wednesday, a statement said. Tuesday’s suspension hit the production of about 13,000 cars.

Kojima Industries, which supplies plastic parts and electronic components to the automaker, said it found an error in one of its file servers on Saturday night. After restarting the server, he confirmed that he was infected with a virus, and found a threatening message, said in a separate statement.

The statement was written in English, Kojima’s spokesman told Reuters, but declined to give further details.

The failure of the Kojima system meant that the supplier was unable to send parts, forcibly Toyota (TM)which does not store components in its factories to stop production, a Toyota spokesman said.

Government ministers said they were closely following the incident. While large companies have cybersecurity measures, the government is worried about small or medium-sized subcontractors, Industry Minister Koichi Hagiuda told reporters on Tuesday.

Reports of the use of powerful Emotet malware have increased since the first week of February, according to the Japanese Emergency Response Team / Coordination Center, which provides information on cybersecurity.

Emotet is used to gain access to a victim’s computer before downloading additional malicious software, such as one used to steal bank passwords or ransom software that can lock a computer until a blackmail fee is paid.

It was not clear whether Emotet was used by Toyota. Toyota declined to comment on whether it found early signs of a potential cyber attack or whether Emotet was responsible for paralyzing its operation.

Kojima only supplies Toyota and is a top-tier supplier for some parts and a second-tier supplier for others, a Kojima spokesman said. Toyota’s operations in Japan cover a supply chain of 60,000 companies on four levels.

Toyota has said it will be able to resume operations by joining a backup network between it and the supplier. It will take a week or two for the system to fully recover, it said.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will help Ukraine and Russia in peace talks

Russian billionaire businessman Roman Abramovich, who owns the Premier League Chelsea football club, has accepted Ukraine’s request to help negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine, a spokesman said.

The news of Abramovich’s involvement in the talks following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine first came from Jewish News, which said Kyiv had contacted it through Jewish contacts to seek his help.

“I can confirm that the Ukrainian side has contacted Roman Abramovich to support a peaceful solution and that he has been trying to help ever since,” a spokesman for Abramovich said.

“Given what is at stake, we would like to know why we have not commented on the situation as such or its involvement.

There was no immediate comment from the Ukrainian government.

Abramovich, a Jew with Israeli citizenship, was one of the most influential businessmen to earn a fortune since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Forbes ranked him net at $ 13.3 billion.

A commodity trader thriving in the chaos of then-President Boris Yeltsin, Abramovich acquired stakes in oil company Sibneft, aluminum maker Rusal and airline Aeroflot, which were later sold.

Under Russian President Vladimir Putin, Abramovich was governor of the remote Arctic region of Chukotka in Russia’s Far East.

It was not immediately clear what role, if any, Abramovich would play in talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials, which began Monday on the border with Belarus.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president’s office said Ukraine’s goal in the talks was an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine. The Kremlin has not said explicitly what its purpose is in the talks.

Abramovich, 55, said on Saturday that he was giving Chelsea’s trustees control of the club.

In recent days, two other Russian billionaires, Mikhail Friedman and Oleg Deripaska, have called for an end to the war.

Putin used an early morning address to the nation on February 24 to order a “special military operation” against Ukraine just three days after recognizing two Russian-backed rebel regions in Ukraine.

Putin said he was ordering a military operation to protect people, including Russian citizens, from “genocide” – an accusation that Ukraine and the West reject as baseless propaganda.

Ukraine claims Russia used illegal vacuum bomb during invasion: “Potential war crime”

The International Criminal Court has launched an investigation into Russia’s possible war crimes, which the country may have committed during its invasion of Ukraine, after a Ukrainian official said Russia had used illegal weapons during the war, officials said.

On Monday, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, told reporters at the US Capitol that during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the former country used a vacuum bomb in violation of international law, Reuters reported.

On the same day, ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan, who was already investigating before the invasion, said he was launching an investigation “as soon as possible” into any other potential violations, ABC News reported.
