Tom Cruise “inspired a generation of pilots”. This was announced by the team of the Patrouille de France, the French “Smoke Squadron”, on Twitter on the day of their honoring in Cannes.
Last Wednesday, May 18th, on the occasion of the presentation of the new film “Top Gun: Maverick” at the Cannes Film Festival, a sequel to the first production in 1986, the acrobats of the Air Force demonstrated their guarantee with ticket shots with colored smoke, as the film’s cast posed for photos.

According to the Patrouille de France publication, they had already invited Tom Cruise out on a date the night before the Cannes presentation. Along with pictures of the actor visiting the team on the 18th, the caption read:

Then, in another publication that showed pictures of the tribute made in Cannes, the team explained:
