The 39-year-old Oklahoma mother kills her young son, 6-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself during a supervised visit where she sets off FIREWORKS before starting the shooting

A mother shot dead her three children after a three-hour standoff with police before turning the gun on herself.

Brandy McCaslin, 39, was on a “supervised visit” to her youngest son Billy Jacobson, 10 months old, when a police officer saw fireworks outside her address in Verdigris, Oklahoma.

Authorities confirmed that when they found McCaslin barricaded inside the home, armed with a gun, the lone officer began investigating and called for assistance.

She also shot and killed her six-year-old son Bryce and 11-year-old daughter Noe in Thursday night’s tragedy.

When officers gained entry to the home, they found McCaslin and their three children dead, but their motive for the triple homicide is unclear.

Billy’s father has claimed on social media that Brandy tried to “commit suicide” and “tried to change his son’s name” in January because she was “mad at me for not coming back to her.”

A fundraiser has raised $215 of $10,000 to help pay for funeral expenses for Billy, who claims McCaslin gave birth to her son during a “supervised visit.”

Blake Forsman told 2News that he saw McCaslin waiting for their kids at the bus stop and fixing their fence to keep their dogs out of his yard.

He added, “They looked like normal kids.” “They got off the bus, ran on, drove and rode their bikes, just normal kids.”

Another neighbor, Bill Salwaechter, said: “I think it was around 3pm and cops were here in large numbers.”

“These are the guys I really feel sorry for because they’re going through this.”

“The pathetic thing is, those kids had nothing to do with it.” Now they’re gone. “These children were the future of America.”

A spokesman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said, “On the afternoon of July 20, 2023, officers from the Verdigris Police Department noticed fireworks exploding outside a home near East Dogwood Court and Cypress Street.”

“Officials went looking and discovered an armed and barricaded woman in the apartment.”

“Negotiations quickly got underway while they worked to get in touch with 39-year-old Brandy McCaslin. A standoff ensued for the next three hours.

“With no response, officers broke into the home where they found McCaslin and her three children dead.

“The children included a ten-month-old, six and eleven-year-olds.” McCaslin was found to have shot all three children and then turned the gun on himself.

“The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist in this case.” OSBI agents will continue to work with the Verdigris Police Department while this investigation continues.”
