The Coyotes are a “joke,” according to John Scott.

Although ex-strongman John Scott wore their colors for 11 games in 2015-16, he didn’t mince his words against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday.

The desert team has received several large contracts from injured players in recent years. Chris Pronger, Pavel Datsyuk and Marian Hossa are among the stars traded to the “Yotes” without a single game in Arizona.

General manager Bill Armstrong continued that momentum recently, signing Shea Weber and Jakub Voracek to earn draft picks.

This tactic displeases Scott, who is used to not having his tongue in his pocket.

“The Coyotes are such a joke,” he wrote on Twitter. [Gary] Bettman worries about teams using the injury list to break the salary cap, but he doesn’t care about the Coyotes, who are using it to spend flat and send an American League-caliber team onto their varsity arena’s rink.

“They spend almost $30 million on injured players and only pay their players $43 million!”

The Coyotes have only made the playoffs once in the past 10 years. They are second to bottom in the Central Division, just ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks.
