The Miss Universe 2018 candidate, the Venezuelan-Chilean model and journalist Andrea Díaz, showed on her social networks that an aesthetic procedure she underwent did not go as expected.

Miss Universe is the most important beauty pageant in the world and the queens strive and work hard to win the crown.

Many diet or exercise to achieve the look they want. Others, however, choose the operating room.

Andrea Díaz was born in Venezuela and moved to Chile at a young age. With time and his love for both countries, he decided to get dual citizenship. She was the representative of Chile at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant.

At the time, Díaz admitted during competition interviews that he was very happy to be representing Chile. “It’s the country I grew up in and that welcomed me with open arms years ago,” he said.

In that competition, he also revealed that years ago he underwent an aesthetic procedure that left him with multiple burns on his face.

A little routine had devastating consequences

“I decided to do something routine and came home devastated with an acid burned face. Of course, all my dreams collapsed,” Díaz recalled on Miss Universe.

Also, he felt that no country wanted to be represented by a girl with a burned face.

Because of this bad procedure, Andrea was afraid to leave her home for almost a year and a half because she was in great pain and did not feel safe. Over time, his wounds began to heal and he regained his confidence.

Although she wasn’t the Miss Universe winner, she assures that it was one of the happiest moments of her life.
