“We reject this attempt at gags and reject any type of criticism that directly undermines freedom of expression,” wrote Alain Saulnier, former director general of Radio-Canada, in an open letter published in January 2022 on behalf of several signatories, including Dominique Payette, Catherine Dorion, Alexandre Boulerice, Safia Nolin, Lea Clermont Dion, and Boufeldja Benabdallah.

The current application will go to court in March next year.
