A great loss for the Raptors

At the heart of a crucial period in their schedule is the Toronto Raptors, who will be without the services of OG Anunoby for the next four games.

The London native injured his wrist in a fall in the 123-105 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. He didn’t fracture a bone, but will be sidelined for the remainder of the raps’ trip to the American West.

This season, Anunoby has averaged 16.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. He is also the tied leader in steals per game on the Silver Tour with a 2.1.

The 25-year-old athlete didn’t choose the moment to find himself on the ground. Nick Nurse’s men are trying to salvage their season and move up the table to reach the playoffs. The Raptors players, ranked 12th in the Eastern Conference, have until the Feb. 9 trade deadline to convince Toronto staff not to become a salesman.

Anunoby is exactly one of the players that arouses the most interest from other teams. According to the FOX Sports Network, he wouldn’t be happy with the Raptors and might pack his bags if a team is willing to pay a maximum amount for his services.

The New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns have reportedly knocked on the Queen City team’s door to take over Anunoby, who will receive an annual salary of $18.6 million through 2025.

Cara Delevingne is enjoying a date night with friend Minke as they walk hand in hand to Harry Styles’ concert in California

They went public with their romance during a trip to Italy last summer.

And Cara Delevingne was seen on a date with her friend Minke on Tuesday as they attended Harry Styles’ Love On Tour concert at the Kia Forum Arena in California.

The model and actress, 30, walked hand in hand with her musician partner, 31, through the crowd as they dressed for the music event.

Cara kept a simple look for the outing as she donned black skinny jeans with a matching mesh paneled top.

She wore a gray tweed blazer over it and added a black and silver buckled belt and a pair of aviator boots to the ensemble.

The model let her messy blonde hair fall freely in a naturally tousled wave as she looked quite natural for the concert.

Minke followed closely behind, contrasting her friend in bright white jeans with a distressed hem.

Minke opted for a matching white vest top and added a touch of grunge with a black leather jacket and cream block heel boots.

While the musician slipped a beanie over her wavy brunette tresses, she fell underneath.

Also present at the concert were singer Halsey and actress Ashley Benson, as Harry continues on his world tour, dubbed Love On Tour, which will run through July.

Cara and Minke confirmed their romance early last year in June after they were spotted kissing in Portofino, Italy.

And since then, Cara and Minke, whose real name is Leah Mason, have kept a low profile since confirming their budding romance last year.

MAFS 2023: Harrison and Bronte matched on Hinge before meeting at the altar

Married at First Sight EXCLUSIVE: Proving the drama-filled wedding was ‘fake’ as leaked screenshots show Harrison and Bronte matched on Hinge BEFORE they met at the altar

It’s the show that promises to bring complete strangers together in a ‘real love experiment’ – but new evidence suggests Married At First Sight isn’t all it seems.

Leaked screenshots from Bombshell show that Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield knew each other before they met at the altar for Monday’s season premiere.

The screenshots show the pair were compatible on Hinge four months before filming began last year, but Bronte had no interest in pursuing Harrison at the time, even complaining to a friend that he “couldn’t take a hint.”

This contradicts the show’s claims that the contestants were “complete strangers,” and also suggests that Bronte knew Harrison was talking to other women on dating apps in the run-up to their wedding day.

“Bronte sent her sister a screenshot of Harrison’s profile and messages along with the words: ‘I hate guys who can’t take the hint,'” a source told Chron Australia.

“They laughed because Harrison was only talking to himself.”

A source on set said Bronte addressed the fact that they had previously met at Hinge’s on their wedding day, but Harrison told her not to feel special about him sending messages to “hundreds” of other women.

Another insider said Bronte’s friend Jessica Tomlinson — the same woman who broke the bombshell Monday that Harrison was dating a 21-year-old woman off the show — had already told Bronte about her groom’s secret relationship before the wedding.

If all of this is true, then Bronte put on a Logie-worthy performance for the cameras as she didn’t reveal anything when she saw Harrison waiting for her at the altar.

She also looked genuinely shocked by Jess’ news about Harrison’s secret girlfriend, like it was all new information to her.

In a revealing clue about the fate of their “marriage,” Bronte has yet to accept Harrison’s friend request on Facebook.

At Monday’s season premiere, Bronte’s BFF Jessica pulled her aside to reveal that Harrison was dating her friend just days before his televised wedding.

She showed receipts in the form of photos, WhatsApp screenshots and even a picture of an open suitcase, which she said was Harrison’s bag that he packed the day before he left to film MAFS.

A shocked Bronte replied, “You’re lying. If true, this is my worst nightmare.”

Despite the crises better than expected global growth in 2023

Despite the crises, better than expected global growth in 2023

The global economy is withstanding repeated shocks better than expected and the IMF has raised its growth forecast for 2023, the specter of a recession disappearing for several countries, while China’s reopening gives hope for additional recovery.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) now expects global growth of 2.9% in 2023, according to its report published on Monday, 0.2 percentage points more than it had expected in October when it published its previous forecast.

“The outlook is less gloomy than our October forecast,” IMF chief economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas said during a conference call.

“The coming year will remain difficult,” he warned, but “it could also be a turning point” on the front lines of growth and inflation, the economist said.

The slowdown appears to be less severe than expected in several developed economies, most notably the United States (1.4% growth in 2023, up 0.4 percentage points since October).

But also in Germany and Italy, where the IMF, contrary to its forecast in October, no longer fears a recession. Growth in the euro zone, which is weathering the energy crisis related to the Ukraine conflict better than expected, is therefore expected to be 0.7% or 0.2 points higher than previously.

The other important factor is China’s reopening after abandoning the zero Covid policy. Despite the chaotic management that has led to a sharp rise in Covid cases in the country, this reopening should enable Chinese growth (+5.2% vs. 4.4% forecast three months ago) and give a boost to the global economy .

In addition, inflation, which has risen to very high levels globally, is now slowing and is expected to be lower in 2023 than in 2022 in most countries, the IMF notes in its report.

However, the Washington institution sees it slightly higher this year than previously forecast, at 6.6% versus 6.5% forecast in October. But it should return to below 2021 levels in 2024 (+4.3% vs. +4.7%).

These figures are more optimistic than figures released by the World Bank in mid-January, which indicated a further slowdown in global growth. But that was before the announcement of the end of China’s massive containment measures against Covid-19. The parameters taken into account by the two institutions are also different.

UK recession expected

The three global locomotives – the United States, China and Europe – are thus showing clear signs of resilience for a variety of reasons. And for all advanced economies, still weak growth is expected this year.

One exception, however: the UK is expected to be the only G20 country to experience a recession this year, with GDP contracting by around 0.6% (down 0.9 percentage points from October forecasts).

Conversely, despite the sanctions imposed by the international community since invading Ukraine, Russia could get away with slightly positive growth in 2023 (+0.3%), which is expected to even accelerate in 2024 (+2.1%).

Elsewhere in the world, the expected expansion in Sub-Saharan Africa (+3.8%, almost unchanged) or the Middle East and Central Asia (+3.2%, 0.4 points less than in October) will be much higher than in Latin America and expects Caribbean where it will remain below global growth (+1.8%).

At +1.2% and +1.7%, the growth forecasts for the two Latin American locomotives, Brazil and Mexico, are well below the expectations of the other large emerging countries, particularly China and India (+6.1%).

And global growth of 3.1% is expected for 2024, up from 2023 but with a slight downward revision from October (-0.1 percentage points).

For these two years, however, global growth will “remain weak by historical standards,” said the IMF’s chief economist.

Dolphins are a true angler’s friends! Beloved mammals drive schools of fish into the nets of the trawler crew

Dolphins are a true angler’s friends! Beloved mammals herd schools of fish into trawler crew nets so they can intercept the stragglers left behind, research shows

Dolphins have long been observed helping humans catch fish. Now scientists think they know why — the dolphins themselves are catching more fish while staying safe.

The researchers examined drone footage, sonar and acoustic footage from the murky waters off Laguna, Brazil, where massive pods of dolphins head for waiting fishermen.

The dolphins dive to signal the fishermen when to cast their nets and then help themselves to the fish, separating it from the main school.

dr Mauricio Cantor of Oregon State University, who led the study, which is published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, said: “Dolphins and humans have the same goal – to catch fish. They can do it alone, but have learned that they do better as a team.”

Dolphins have long been observed helping humans catch fish by diving as a signal to cast their nets

Fishermen were 17 times more likely to catch fish, while cooperative dolphins were 13 percent less likely to die.

Cooperative dolphins off the coast of Brazil signal fishermen who can’t see fish under the murky water when they’ve landed a big catch.

They do this by suddenly diving under water, whereupon the fishermen immediately cast their nets.

Researchers who observed more than 2,000 interactions found that the tactic worked well, as the dolphins dived and the fishermen responded quickly and in a timely manner about half the times.

Clear evidence that dolphins benefited came from sonar evidence that they stole fish from the nets.

Almost two-thirds of the fishermen surveyed said they felt the creatures run away with some of their catch.

After herding the fish, which were mostly mullets, and casting out their nets in response, the dolphins spent more time producing rapid clicks that sounded so close together, as if they were humming.

Unlike normal navigation clicks, these quick clicks indicate that the creatures are heading for prey.

Dolphins also spent longer underwater after working with fishermen.

Both behaviors suggest that working with the fishermen gave the creatures more fish than usual.

Fishermen certainly benefited as they are 17 times more likely to catch fish and nearly four times as many mullets when teaming up with dolphins.

When the dolphins cooperated with the fishermen, they were 13 percent less likely to die than non-cooperative dolphins.

This is probably because cooperative animals tend to stay in a smaller area and are therefore less likely to end up as ‘bycatch’ in other illegal fishermen’s nets.

Dolphins have also been found to work with fishermen in countries like Myanmar and India.

However, the researchers warn that the fascinating behavior could be lost within 40 to 60 years.

That’s because fish numbers are declining and the pressure on traditional fishermen could cause many to give up, losing decades of knowledge about working with dolphins.

The 15-year study is published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Christian Cueva and the harsh punishment he could receive if

According to lawyer Marcelo Bee Sellares, ‘Aladino’ and Pachuca Santos must pay within 45 days to avoid sporting sanctions.

A few days ago that Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) issued its decision in the lawsuit that had Christian Ceva with the FC Santos. This body ruled that ‘Aladino’ and Pachuca must pay the Brazilian team the sum of 4.8 million dollars. With that in mind, Marcelo Bee Sellares, a lawyer specializing in sports law, gave an interview to RPP and revealed that the Peruvian team’s “10” could face a harsh sports penalty if he doesn’t comply with the TAS resolution.

“If Christian Cueva and Pachuca don’t pay within 45 days, they risk sporting sanctions and he could miss FIFA’s March date,” he said.

“A non-compliance file will be opened and sporting sanctions will be imposed. The player will be disqualified from official matches for four or six months,” he added.

However, the pro said that so far there is nothing preventing the national team midfielder from signing for a club. “Today Christian Cueva is not suspended because he has a financial sanction, not a sporting one. He could sign for any club tomorrow,” he said.

Trump is suing Watergate journalist Bob Woodward and publisher Simon and Schuster for $50M for selling audiobook recordings of his interviews

  • Trump filed a lawsuit in Florida, claiming 19 interviews were for the book’s “single purpose.”
  • Woodward used material for Rage and then sold The Trump Tapes audio book
  • His new attorney did voiceover; filed a lawsuit in Florida and took Reagan to the judge

Former President Donald Trump is suing longtime journalist Bob Woodward for publishing his Trump Tapes audio book — claiming he owns copyrights and demanding that Woodward and Simon & Shuster pay over $49 million in damages.

Trump, who can be heard on the tapes calling Woodward a “great historian” and “the great Bob Woodward” in their recorded conversations, is nonetheless outraged by Woodward’s audio release.

He had previously described Woodward as “very disreputable” and threatened a lawsuit. He finally did so on Monday in Florida, drawing a Pensacola judge who fights terminal prostate cancer and who once issued a ruling that struck down Obamacare.

His new lawyer was born in the UK and is licensed to practice law in Florida and New York, as well as to practice law in the UK – and as he revealed to he has spoken as a spokesman for Wendy’s, Panera Bread , and other clients in a variety of accents.

Trump attended 19 interviews with Watergate journalist Bob Woodward. He is suing for $49 million in damages after the release of The Trump Tapes

Trump’s attorneys claim the former president spoke to Woodward “solely for a book” during his tenure in repeated interviews — which Woodward recorded.

“This case focuses on Mr. Woodward’s systematic usurpation, manipulation and exploitation of President Trump’s audio data,” the lawsuit reads.

Trump had been conducting the interviews during the pandemic when Woodward was writing Rage, his follow-up to his 2018 book criticizing Trump, Fear. Trump attended 19 interviews with Woodward.

He has been accused of forum shopping in the past and using the courts to make political points. Days ago, he dropped a second lawsuit against New York AG Letitia James.

Trump filed a lawsuit in Florida after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago looking for classified material, pulled a judge he appointed who ruled in his favor and appointed a “special master” to sort through the material. An appeals court later overturned the verdict.

His attorney, Robert Garson, denied any form of forum shopping. “He lives in Florida,” Garson told .

He also said the suit was not intended to make a political statement. “I don’t bring suits to make headlines. I’m not that type,’ he said.

Garson, who has won awards for his voiceover work, has “a remarkably versatile voice, anchored in the British accent range,” and has worked with Scottish, Irish, and American accents. He says he has not repeated Trump before.

Trump himself is a former TV pitcher and once served McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King in the White House.

His lawsuit is based on the sale of 2 million copies at $24.99 each for $49 million in damages, Bloomberg reported, noting that all three judges on the U.S. District Court’s division of the Northern County of Florida, where Trump has filed, are GOP commissioners.

Trump dropped his $250 million lawsuit against James last week after a judge fined him $1 million for a lawsuit he described as a “political manifesto” detailing his grievances against those who opposed him.
