The Powerball jackpot increased to $1.4 billion in Saturday night’s drawing, for a cash value of $614 million.

According to Powerball, this is the third largest prize of all time.

The Powerball jackpot was last won in the drawing on July 19, 2023. There have been 33 consecutive draws with no jackpot wins. This is the first time that consecutive Powerball jackpot cycles have generated billions of dollars in top prizes.

“This has become another top jackpot in the Powerball game, and we have aligned several factors at the right time to support back-to-back billion-dollar jackpots in just a few months,” said Drew Svitko, chairman of the Powerball product group and chief executive of the Pennsylvania Lottery.

“While it is exciting to dream of winning a billion dollar Powerball jackpot, please remember to gamble responsibly and sign your ticket. We look forward to drawing the winning numbers tomorrow evening!” said Svitko.

Powerball lottery tickets will be on display on October 6, 2023 at the New Hampshire General Store on Route 93 South in Hooksett, NH Charles Krupa/AP

The prize surpasses the $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot won in California on July 19.

The Powerball jackpot was last rolled on Wednesday evening after no ticket matched the six white balls 9, 35, 54, 63, 64 and the red Powerball 1.

According to Powerball, the chance of winning the jackpot is 1 in 292.2 million.

The drawing will take place shortly before 11:00 p.m. ET at the Florida Lottery drawing studio in Tallahassee.
