College Football News 2022 college football rankings after week 5 for all 131 teams with results and who’s next week’s turn.
This might have been another fun/crazy/unpredictable/silly college football weekend, but for ranking purposes, it’s not as bad as it was after week 4.
As always, we’re trying to respect the results and piece the puzzle together rather than messing with any eye tests, and there are a few changes.
Nebraska is a little different now, having had a week off and time to settle in after the coaching changes.
Fresno State’s loss to UConn is a disaster, but for now the penalty won’t be too harsh with QB Jake Haener out.
State of Arizona? It wasn’t bad against USC, but it’s not fair to give credit to the Sun Devils to Eastern Michigan — who’s been a dud since winning Tempe — considering they haven’t won a game through an FBS program yet.
There are some inconsistencies across the board – Southern Miss and Tulane are a wreck to work out – but in almost all cases these are about as fair as can be.
This will change significantly over the course of the season. Nothing is set in stone.
